Weekend fully booked

As this has been discussed many times and this post will be locked to stopped any comments.

Yes you can book a year in advance but this still stops people booking a a whole week (7 days) due to the weekend bookings. The problem is not going to go away until something is done about the weekend blocking. I suggest that the club takes a look at the amount of weekend bookings. I notice that there are discounts for midweek booking so this surely must show that CMC must be loosing out on revenue do to weekend blocking.

Quite evidently I have hit a raw nerve and bow to your opinions.

I still think that a deposit should be charged with every booking

It’s not a raw nerve as such, HF, but a case of looking at the bigger picture and putting yourself in others' shoes. Remember that what benefits one person can disadvantage others and what we have in this club is equality for all.

I'm not saying it’s the case with you, and you’re certainly not new, but we so often see people join this club knowing full well what they’re signing up to and the first thing they seek to do is to change things because something doesn’t suit.

What have deposits got to do with it?🤔

I suspect that TW is like me. Making weekend booking restricted would not be likely to affect me but I prefer it does not impact those who wish to weekend.

OH and I used the C&CC site at Bowness last year. Minimum booking 5 nights. Fine for us as we generally stay 5 nights on a site and move on. Out of bounds to weekenders

Why would anyone have an issue with members who work all week 😜 booking & enjoying their weekends away 😘.

The weekends are not blocked …..they are bookable by every single member .

I think the OP needs help …...in their pre planning skills .👍

agree, but must say never had a real problem getting on a site, if out and about normally seek out a couple of sites and telphone a couple of days before arrival to book, mostly non club sites and generally not during July & August.

Just proves how popular non club sites are at w/endswink but apart from the few "honey pot" club sites, others can normally be booked at short notice for a w/end,and even then at times it is possible to get a pitch at the more popular honey pots

I am not sure what "raw nerve" has been hit. As you acknowledge in your original post  "As this has been discussed many times "  It has indeed been discussed many times and as yet no solution, if one was needed, has emerged. It is possible that a deposit system might help but there is no guarantee. Those of us that are retired are generally free agents to go when we want. For working members I am sure those weekends away are valuable to de-stress, they were for me when I worked!

guess, Rufs, you’re all in favour of penalising those who work Monday to Friday. Shame on you. Have you never considered treating people equally?

Oh! def, not. Having not long ago retired fully, we had lots of weekends away, and i would not want to deny anybody this right. But we have to acknowledge that peoples working/holiday patterns have changed significantly e,g. some may have a 2 week holiday foisted upon them at short notice, and it is gauling if you try to book at 2 week stay and are told that the middle weekend is fully booked, yes i know you can now book many months in advance and cxl etc at short notice but this scenario can be even worse. I dont think there is an easy solution to all of this and both clubs operate different schemes. As i said in an earlier post, we tend not to book and have never had a night in a lay by as yet, stayed several times in the late arrivals, & motorway svc area's, Tebay Services can be recommended,  but normally only being us and the dog we are fairly laid back about it all.

Gone are the days when a whole town/area would shut down for 2 weeks summer holidays and you knew 10 years in advance as to when the dates would be, and you had no option but to take the set weeks.
