We've been members for 3 years now & my far better half recently asked who owns the club, the answer to which I didn't know. So who does own the club?

I just knew you would be the first to answer my post ,and I wasn’t disappointed, I can also guess who will like your post , let’s see if I’m right cool

Interesting point, HD, given the predictability of the "likes" for your post! laughinglaughinglaughinglaughinglaughing

This thread is so far off course I'm really surprised it has not been closed.  Never a Mod around when when needed wink.

The original post is a very valid question - not so much in the context of it going bust but rather to do with the amalgamation with the Camping and Caravanning Club.

Which if the members of both clubs are gullible enough not to realise is what could well happen if those "looking"made a move and made an "offer" to the memberships,  as with the two motoring organizations,  which the members then regretted when they realised what they had "given away"for short term gain?

I could be wrong but I seem to recall the actual membership of the RAC was in double figures and if any money changed hands non of it went to the public who merely paid their annual subscription for recovery services etc and I very much doubt if any of us here actually qualify as "members" of the CC in the ownership  context.

Do not know about the ARC ,but the AA when "bought out"it was put to the members who a majority  accepted the "offer?" ,I expect it was also put to the RAC members?,

Which I would expect if would be the case if both the major clubs were a serious target

In the absence of an 'ownership', the Executive Committee assume responsibility. Interesting thing is how one becomes a member of this group. It could be you my fellow member!

The Caravan Club Ltd has a share capital of £100. You need to own one of these 100 £1 shares.

Just noticed that my earlier contribution to this thread has been removed. I had a link to publicly available info so what was the problem? I haven't had any correspondence from CT admonishing Me!
