Airangel WIFI

I have recently been to Black Knowl site. I tried to login to the WIFI each time it just returned to the login or register page. I went to reception and the lady was very helpful even though she couldn't solve the problem. She gave me a number to ring for Airangel. I rang the number and the person tried to solve the problem. Unfortunately he couldn't and said he would escalate it to so,done senior and they would ring me. 3 hours later I heard nothing so rang again and the lady told me that it had been escalated but as it was Saturday there would be no one in until Monday.

After the wait I'd had on Saturday I decided to go out in the afternoon. I received a call at about 14.30 I told him that I was away from my iPad and could he call back in 2 hours. He did say that I had be given 24hr connection. I arrived back at the caravan at about 16.00 and tried to connect, the same thing happened as on the earlier occasions. I waited for his call and low and behold I a man still waiting. I arrived home on the 25th September.

Can’t see the point of buying a product (club wi-fi) that you can only use part of its potential

In a nutshell. My daughter and grandchildren came with us to Moreton-In-Marsh, last year. They stayed in one of those pod thingies. The price for the pod included free WiFi. For their four night stay, the WiFi didn’t work once.

Whilst I accept that the annual pass is reasonable value if you spend lots of time on Club sites I would argue that it is poor value for one day/week passes

I totally agree David. Before they had an annual pass option I would not buy the club's wifi. I do buy an annual pass and I do find that, for me, it is worthwhile. The price per week is similar to that charged on some comercial sites but usually on commercial sites it covers two users.

Not sure whether I will buy one this year or not. The current one runs out in mid June. Depends on the sites we are on after that date. Last year our annual pass ran out In December but I did not renew until later as I had enough data on a 12 month EE data sim to use up first.

It is not often that we are unable to use the WiFi supplied via Air Angel on club sites but at peak times it can be slow ,as in most rural areas and villages that still rely on the copper wire phone cables (still many)and some think they can still stream and play games as they do at home with fibre broadband

Mine ran out in the middle of September and I didn't bother renewing for the 3 days we spent in London in November. I will probably  sign up again when we go away in March, as like JVB I find it adequate for my needs. However, the CC are certainly pushing the boundaries of acceptable price. The year pass I had that ran out last September cost £25. At that time it was £27.50 to renew, now it is £30. So since September 2018 it has gone up £5. OK it had been £25 for a while so the jump to £27.50 was acceptable. Another £2.50 in less than a year seems a little greedy. 🤔

Just seen TW's post about this years pricing. In the last couple of years I have been using my phone's data allowance which is more than enough for what I want. I only purchased the Club wifi last year because we were at Buxton where there is little or no 4G signal. Can't see me buying it again. Wonder how the C&CC are getting on with their free wifi?

Today with phone wifi becoming cheaper and so easy to tether its possible that charging for wifi is going to price itself out as fewer people buy it.

I have 25gb with my BT contract which I can use on whatever site we are using and as we use both CMC & CCC sites and CLs it is easier and cheaper.

Completely agree with Trini. I have not bought WiFi in three years. It isn't just that using mobile tethered to my laptop is easier and cheaper (the marginal cost is Nil as I buy it anyway), it is also that, at least compared to when I used to use the club Wifi, it is faster and much more reliable. Since using my own phone, I have not yet been anywhere that did not have a good 4G connection.

Are air angel or the Club giving credit for lost Annual WiFi time due to corona virus shutdown?

Mine ran out in April this year and it will be July before I can use it again.

If no credit then I shall be using my MiFi and no more very poor value Club WiFi
