New Bailey Leaking

Afternoon all, just thought I let you know of the issues I have had with Bailey Brindisi and its repair issues.  Although the there is a 6 year ingress which can be extended to 10 years but all this does not make much of a difference when you have to wait nearly, currently 64 days (and counting) and still no sign of the part from Baileys suppliers.  Problem happened during a rally at Stonehaven, after a cold snap of weather, ( 5Dec 16) and we had the heating on and before we out for a function there was drip running down the wall inside the caravan from the coving mid way in the bedroom area.

Took Van to the dealership, who incidentally I have no issues with they are trying their best to get the van back to us, but the repair which happens to be at where the roof is joined with the front and back panels connected by strip and two end caps.  The dealership was promised that 17 Jan parts would be available from bailey then  hours to fix the van and a day for the new adhesive to take hold properly then van could be returned.  With another rally due in Feb 17th I asked for an update last week and the latest news is that part expected 20 Feb into Bailey then expressed mail up to my dealer who can effect a repair.  Bailey had commented that they are having issues with their supplier of the repair kit that they made for apparent on going issues with the join on Bailey caravans.  Absolutely fed up with Bailey, the van is 4 months old bought from new and it has been in the workshop almost as long as I have had it!! Not happy at all.   I live in hope that the part really does arrive on the 20th and fixed before the end of Feb 17.  Has anybody else had leaking issues with Bailey and shocking repair times, by the way I appreciate the 2 week shut down for xmas.

Hi all, certainly this post caused some venting of Bailey's customer service, but I cant fault my dealership, Perthshire Caravans, once they got the part issue was fixed promptly and they took appropriate care to explain the issues so just happy to have the van back all repaired looking forward to getting out in it again. First rally booked already smile  Appears the main issues was lack of appropriate sealant in the construction on the production line.

You are not alone my friend. Unicorn 3 Seville.. just had first service & van is only 12 months old ..... list of issues with this, most so far repaired by the great team at Venture caravans, Daventry.

3 front large panoramic window

2 offside & soon 2 nearside front windows

3 off side seat bases (sagging)

All soft close drawers realigned

Awning strip light (several LED's already gone out)

BBQ point (recall)

Solar panel not working (red wire from panel not connected)

shower leaking ( going back in again )

Roof joint now leaking (off side above fridge in cabinet /parts ordered)

Front nearside window now leaking, water pooling onto top of centre chest cabinet & running off onto seat bases soaking it, getting under bottom curtain rail & possibly into plug sockets.

Problems arise almost weekly now & by far the worst piece of junk I have owned. Have had the standard reply from Bailey saying how "sorry" they are Blah blah .... but can you take it to your local dealer to sort?  These poor service guys have as much time in it as we have had holidays. Another soon to be EX Bailey owner !

I think you will find that some posters take it as a personal insult for any criticism of Bailey of Bristol product's on here.  So be carefulundecided

Get my woodless construction caravan tomorrow.

After 6 years of damp to the floor on my U1, i can confidently say no more ingress to the floor for me.

The U1 didn't have that roof joint, stupid idea to introduct it IMO, i believe all the U3 will have to have a modifield strip fitted, so probably a delay due to the huge demand for the part.

My unicorn 3 Seville ... or should that be Sieve ille .... has at least

4 leaks. Firstly the shower ( now hopefully fixed) ... the dreaded

& expected roof joint (parts on order), front nearside window &

now also floor area under & around the BBQ point !  You need

a good supply of rags & kitchen roll, if you are the unfortunate

owner of one of these awfully put together pieces of JUNK !

Got a 2015 Bailey pursuit 420/4 Jive. Sprung a leak right in the roof seam by shower rm door corner. Water trickling down the inner wall. Booked it in today with white Arches - I live in hope! Please tell me Bailey and their dealers have sorted out roof seam repairs 😡. Don’t want to be parted from my Buddy for long.

wish me luck - any advice greatly appreciated

We have a Pegasus Ancona IV.

Had same issue with leaky roof and ongoing issues with so called Dreamsleep (or Dreamslip as I call it as the seats slip forward and prevent opening of front drawers).

Roof now repaired (2nd time round) and hopefully sorted.

Seats repaired once, but still slip and most uncomfortable seats have ever sat on.

We have owned 4 new caravans, our first Bailey, and whilst I like layout, I will not be buying another one.  Build quality appaling for near £20k purchase price.
