Hello all.
just looking at changing our car for something newer and a Volvo XC60 PHEV has caught my eye.
I was wondering if anyone out there tows with one as I would be interested to know what you think of it as a tow vehicle.
The model I’m looking at is well within all parameters for towing my caravan.
Thanks in anticipation, waiting with bated breath as I’m expecting the dealer to be on the phone soon. 😂

Thanks again.

Have you tried a Volvo forum? The chances of a caravan towing Volvo XC60 PHEV driver being on this forum are slim….

Definitely try the Volvo Owners Club Forum.

I used to tow with the older 2016 Volvo V60 D6 PHEV. Same system (parallel drive, electric rear axle, ICE front). It was an excellent tow car. Lots of torque. AWD if needed. Very good economy solo. Moderate economy towing.

I am pretty sure the XC60 PHEV has featured in the CMC tow car of the year awards in the last couple of years with good results. The drive train is the same as all the ones below which have been class winners. I cant see an XC60 PHEV class winner - but it will be very good!

Thanks for your replies.

I knew the chances of a caravan towing Volvo XC60 PHEV being on this forum were slim as you quite rightly suggest Flatcoat but I will check the Volvo owners forum.

Thanks again, lots to think about.

Regards

I’ve now got one and towed for the first time with it.  Followed the manual and used the all wheel drive setting for towing.  It was very good and stable coming back on a windy day.  I’d guess that the average mpg was 25 overall which based on experience with my previous Discovery Sport I didn’t think was too bad.

Overall seems pretty good and a home I normally use the battery.
