Club Rules

In truth the club should forget rules and let the members do what ever they want as they do anyway. I am I heavy user of sites and find that:-

Members speed around with no consideration to others.

Let their dogs roam without a lead.

If on a lead it is more than the length specified.

Let the dogs foul the site even if there is a dog walk. I see them sneaking around with their dogs waiting them to do their "business" no matter if it is a grass pitch that children will occupy next.

Let their children play ball etc near other members outfits and let them irritate others whilst getting a warm glow with beer and wine.

Children going around site at high speed on their bikes even the wrong way round.

Have raucous gathering late into the late evening/ early morning.

The Club should either suspend members breaking the Club rules or relax the rules

Moderator Comment - Moved as this is a moan rather than a story!

Generally I just ignore them BB 😉.  Occasionally I pull an exposed leg or tweak a tail 😀😁.

Even  as one who does not like club sites I find it hard to believe this catalogue  of "site crimes"  all happened on one visit. I do my caravanning on those scary (to some) commercial "hell holes" and am rarely bothered   by anti social behavior but if I was I know where the gate is and would go elsewhere.  My advice to the OP is that if club sites are too wild for you you are probably in the wrong hobby.undecided

You appear to have missed off one important and relevant fact there David, these commercial "hell holes" (as you so delicately put it) are in fact over there? And you do very very little recent touring over here?

This is the second time you have missed this part off? I can only assume the therapy for your overtherepostitis is working?smile

  • Am I to assume from this that the club sites are in fact plagued with the type of behaviour the OP described?  Personally in my long membership and more than occasional visit (in past years) to these  sites it's not been my experiance, one could die of boredom but no other risks to be endured however as you are the clubs number one fan it must be so. wink

BTW off to Croatia ( turn left after Venice) soon and that will be the last trip this year.

no I was merely pointing out your mis-direction and in-accuracysmile

Whats inaccurate about my expressing the opinion that  I doubt if all these issues the OP complained about actually happened  on one site visit ?

My views about the good standard of behavior on club sites is based on membership first taken out in 1978 (some years before your good self I believe) and visits to several dozen sites over the years and  my preference for continental touring these days  seems to me to be totally irrelevant. Why it bothers you so much I can only guess

Posted on 18/07/2018 18:05

as you have asked - the inaccurate, or rather the missing item that made your post inaccurate and misleading, ie that you were talking about sites that you had reported on were over there not over here.

Always happy to help David but moving on nowsmile
