I thought it was already next to useless to all as it can't cope now ... ๐Ÿค”

Works fine for me generally. Have you tried it yourself?

I know when in Coniston, 4 or 5 years ago that the chap next to me had problems whilst it worked fine for me.

I've tried the odd few times in the past to access CT via the 'free' wifi log-in .... failed each time. And reading here of the problems that other have with it, and that you can only use one devise IMHO makes it a none starter. I just use my phone or use it as a hotspot.

The one device could be better I agree, but for us it is fine. OH does not use her tablet anywhere as much as me.

When we settle, about 7.30pm I guess, she tends to read a book after we stop chatting, with breaks to discuss things. I used to enjoy reading but when I lost the sight in one eye no longer found reading a proper book enjoyable as I cannot scan the same and it irritates me. So it is generally me that makes most use with our mifi device when we both use internet or if we are not on a CMC site (with wifi).

No idea why some have problems with CMC wifi and (obviously) some don't. I say that as it works for me.

It would be rare that I would use a hot spot for wifi even if no phone signal for mifi. When on the site near Blenheim Castle I used the hotspot as it was available and worked at the caravan. It turned out that the warden did the same

ET, if you’re using a mifi device you are using cellular data not the C&MC WiFi๐Ÿคท๐Ÿป‍โ™‚๏ธ.

PS-that could answer why you have no issues when others do๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

Paul want's it included in the price. I certainly don't. Selfish but it works for me and usually costs me less than 50p a day for my CMC usage. If it was free it might not work for anybody wink and I am happy to pay for my usage.

I would normally agree ET. However, my annual subscription (the 4th I think) ran out last October. Because of Covid I didn't get round to renewing it at the beginning of the year. When we started our tour at the beginning of the month I held off renewing, as the sites were totally full, even mid week and I suspected that the system would struggle. Sure enough trying to use the "free side" of it for CT has generally been dire. I think it is likely a result of both the increased numbers on site and the slightly different clientele than a normal year. Anyway I have decided to use my phone data for the moment and see what next year brings.

I think that you misunderstand. On CMC sites with wifi I use the site wifi. If we both want the internet at the same time  then one of uses mifi. On other sites we either both use mifi or that particular sites wifi if included or cheap and effective.
