Excuse for a week site

I feel very sorry for all those CL owners and those that have wanted to look for and book a CL. The "Essential Maintenance" has been in effect for over 24 hrs and I wonder in that time now many prospective CL clients have given up the idea of booking a CL and have found alternative sites? It would not be so bad had we, as customers, had been informed of the down time but just to shut down the site is treating us and CL owners with no respect. I have not yet tried to access the CL section and hopefully it will be accessible whereas the club bookIng site has  huge queue at the moment. The very worst website I have experienced.

YT, you have to drill down from Find a UK campsite > Certificated Locations > Select a country > select a county > select a town and that should give you a list, all very laborious. It badly needs a link from the summary brought up by the search facility to the site detail.

Thanks got it, hardly intuitive. Why could the other search results take you to the same panel for goodness sake?

It is such an obvious mistake, being generous, I cannot help but think it is in preparation for more to come???

It’s useless Nellie for CLs. Takes you straight to the new booking page, and that’s where the problems start.

Easiest via website…. Avoid the book button at all times.

Find a UK Campsite

Scroll down to Countries, click on a Country

Choose a County

Choose a Town

Choose a CL

Try and avoid that book button at all times. It’s the only way to see the prices. There isn’t a price filter on the booking page, although I think the map might show them. But the map is 🤬🤬 doesn’t work properly.

SearchforSites is just so much better.

Bad news here is I think I have accidentally thrown out our Handbook😬🫣

Has anyone had any joy with using the "new" app to search for a CL, as it doesn't creek to be working for me.yell

Yes, using "Book a campsite" and map but the only way you will get the detail of the CL is using TTDA's drill down method.

Nellie I asked the help box "How do I find the directions to a site" here is what it came up with:

We've published directions to each of our Club Sites with towing in mind. If you're trying to avoid those tricky routes please use the directions printed in your Sites Directory and Handbook, or online by following the guide below:

To search for a particular site's information page, click on the magnifying glass icon at the top of the page. Then, scroll down to the site's pricing table. You should see some tabs starting with 'Prices' and 'Nearby'. Click on the tab for 'Map' to find both the map and written directions, as well as some other handy details including nearby transport links.

You can now also check our Before You Travel page for any nearby roadworks or diversions before you set off!

I don't quite follow the highlighted bit but I think what is is saying is search for the site by name and then scroll down????

This is possibly the easiest way and it does work for CLs and Club sites

I notice some are thinking the new booking system is a new web site bear in mind it isn't. All the site details are still on the main Web site and can be found as before.

Aye they can😁 Trouble is, you have to negotiate the maze to get to them, via a few dead ends and that Club speciality……Internal Error!🤣

But will any new CLs be added to the main web site or just the new booking one?

I just keep open a previously viewed CL, and work backwards to country or county, and the town which lists the CLs at that location. From there selecting a site I then look at others featured as close by, until I find what I am looking for.

Have done it your way, tda, but it does require a good knowledge of geography, and then one cannot filter for things like dogs allowed, or open all year, or even EHU available, so one has to trawl through each of the site's listed, or those in close proximity, to find what one is searching for. The site and map, as it is, is utter tosh!

Glad that I have kept my SD up to date so at least most of the new CLs are in there be it by location, name and basic facilities.
