Inclusive or exclusive?

Does the site search have a filter for exclusive RV type? I couldn't find one. This popped up ft a CL group that I am on. Curious as to the access issue for caravans.

It would help if you told us the name of the CL.

It’s easily found via what3words reference😁 It’s Waterpump CL in Badingham near Framlingham. Looking at the site page, it’s possibly too tight an access for caravans in tow, but looks a very nice place.

Its not uncommon to find some CLs that only take caravans, or conversely, only accept campervans/MHs. Some grass only sites aren’t suitable for even the lightest weight MHs, while some are simply too tight for articulated outfits and very big MHs. We stayed on a grass only CL some years ago, and the damage done to the grass, including by non 4x4 towing vehicles was substantial, so it’s gone caravan only now.

CLs vary greatly, and the owners can operate how they wish so long as they fulfill the licensing requirements. We know of one that only has 3 pitches, not five for example. Things aren’t chiselled in tablets of stone away from Club Sites😁

We stayed at this lovely site a few weeks ago. The final access is down a fairly steep slope with a sharp turn at the bottom.

I had a look on Google Earth, and you can see as you say a sharp turn, wasn’t sure about slope, but as it is dropping towards a river, not unlikely to be a drop😁 Does look a very nice site, we love that area👍

Waterpump CL is a very popular CL site with 5 star reviews.

The fact that it only accepts Motorhomes was stipulated by CAMC as a condition for granting their CL certificate.

As Takethedogalong has said, there are some CL sites on the network which only accept caravans and some which only accept motorhomes and it's generally to do with access (as in this case), size/ground conditions or it could be a preference of the CL owner as all CAMC CL sites are independent businesses, each run in the way the owner prefers.  The only stipulation for all CL sites is that they are run in accordance with the rules of their annual exemption cerfficate issued by CAMC.

Surprised to learn that CL owners can choose to prefer specific RV type.  After looking at Google satellite pics the access drive looks ok however the fenced area of the CL pitch area looks like a bit tight for maneuvering a caravan if no motor mover.

A CL owner can stipulate his/her own conditions and rules. For instance, some say no children or no pets so it follows that they may restrict access to certain units.
