Why stay here ...

Welcome to Waterpump CL, a Motorhome only site, located in the meadow aside our beautiful 200+ year old timber framed cottage with sunset views across the fields. Enjoy peace and quiet away from roads and neighbouring properties, with the River Alde at the far side of the meadow, there is plenty of wildlife to be spotted and enjoyed, deer, owls and otters to name but a few. With just a 4 minute walk to the local village pub down a footpath direct from the site.

Our CL set within a 2.5 acre meadow has large, flat hardstanding pitches, perfect for Motorhomes, positioned in the properties former menage all have 16amp electric and water with uninterrupted views of the Suffolk countryside. We also have two summer grass pitches both with electric and water. Onsite we have a chemical waste disposal point, refuse and recycling point and visitor information board.

We are conveniently located in the village of Badingham down a track off the tourist route of the A1120. With direct access to the public footpath network and local to National Cycle route 1. Our drive is a single track with a passing place located at the bottom before you reach the house. Here the track descends and turns round the front of the house, with the River Alde at the bottom. Continue past the waterpump and stables, through the gate into the meadow. The site is ahead and information board on your left.

Footpaths and pretty country lanes lead from the site to Framlingham, smaller villages, pubs, cafes and the local Vineyard. Maps and further information is available via email or can be found on our visitor information board.

We also have a 2 bedroom holiday annex and a 2 person luxury glamping pod at the property should you wish your family and friends to join you on your holidays.

Our friendly local pub, The White Horse is just a 4 min walk along a grass footpath off the bottom of our drive. Our nearest and favourite town is Framlingham, a 10 minute drive or 1 hour 10 minute walk across the fields, a historical market town with shops, Tuesday and Saturday markets, restaurants, cafes and English Heritage Castle.

The railway station, just 20 minutes away is Wickham Market located in the village of Campsea Ashe with access to Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds, Norwich, The Norfolk Broads and London.

A 30 minute drive will take you to gorgeous Suffolk coastal towns and villages, such as the popular Southwold, Walberswick, Aldeburgh and Thorpeness. Also half an hour away is the town of Woodbridge on the River Deben with shops, cinema and leisure centre.

There are many other places to visit in the area, such as Snape Maltings with its shops and concert hall, Rendlesham Forest Centre, Minsmere RSPB, National Trust Site Sutton Hoo with recent publicity from the film The Dig, Stonham Barns and its Owl Sanctuary, Independent cinemas - our favourite and oldest in Leiston, The Long Shop Museum of steam also in Leiston, Adnams brewery with tours in Southwold and local vineyard Shawsgate just a 40 minute walk across the fields.

Beautiful views

Waterpump CL
This was our first visit to Suffolk and our first trip in out new motorhome . This site is very peaceful with beautiful views . We were on a grass pitch and was perfect . Lovely walks from site and quiet roads for cycling. A lovely pub was just a 4 min walk away which was great The nearest place to stock up on food was Framlingham a 10 min drive away or just over an hour walk away . The owners were lovely and extremely helpful We stayed 3 nights We will definitely return

What a little Gem

Waterpump CL
We visit the area every year to see friends but this was our first stay at this gorgeous little CL, Sarah and David have created a gem of a site with lovely spaced pitches and wonderful views over farmland, this cl is set in a quiet countryside spot with a 4 minute walk on the well kept path from the site to a wonderful little pub. Sarah gives a warm friendly welcome when you arrive and is helpful on information for walking and cycling, Framlingham is a 20 minute cycle ride down quiet lanes. This is now going to be our go to site for visiting our friend's. Highly recommend.

Brilliant Site

Waterpump CL
We have recently spent 5 nights for the first time here, together with friends. The layout is excellent and reflects the careful thought and hard work put in by Sarah and David to make it so appealing. We received a very friendly welcome from Sarah and her enthusiasm for wanting us to enjoy our stay was very apparent. The short 5 minute off road walk to the local pub is very handy, clearly marked and kept clear by David. They supply information of several walking routes across the fields. The site is very quiet, peaceful and relaxing. We had a great time and will visit again.

Lovely and peaceful

Waterpump CL
We stayed for 1 night with friends, if we had more time we would have stayed longer. Very nice kept cl , Sarah was very nice and the information they provided for our stay was excellent, the white horse local pub was a short walk and we enjoyed a lovely evening meal. All in all a very nice peaceful stay would definitely recommend and stay in the future.
