We simply empty the house fridge into the van fridge and take whatever else is around that would go off if left behind. Plus we normally take a few home produced ready meals, e.g. Bol sauce. Our stays are normally quite long so we soon need to shop and eat locally and enjoy continental fare.
Thinking back to the early 70's pre EU I seems to remember we were able to take all things except uncooked potatoes. Back then most things were needed as I remember there being strict limits on the amount of money you could take.

Us to
If we have to travel without food in the fridge so be it.
Medical insurance we already do, driving permits are only a few pounds, green cards are usually free with your car/caravan insurance.
We lived in Europe pre EU days and live to tell the tale, we even caravanned in Austria, Italy and all over Germany.
As to the French causing trouble at the ports, what's new there. Been there done that.
The Germans have been going to Croatia or should I say the former Yugoslavia for as long as I can remember certainly since the early 70s so the fact that loads of them are there nowadays doesn't surprise me at all. They used to go for the naturist campsites of which there were many in Yugoslavia.
The 90 days in 180 could be an issue if you like to spend the winter there but it won't be long before they have a visa so no need to panic.
Stay Calm and Carry on, we are British after all.

Well, you (and us!) will just have to hope that some deal is cobbled together which avoids the recent reports of Brits not being allowed into EU countries.
Although we won't be doing it with a van, we have high hopes for a river cruise booked for May and a Greek island holiday later in the year.
We were lucky enough to get away just before the pandemic took full force this year, but had to cancel two planned trips later in the year. Just have to keep our fingers crossed for 2021.
