Site Complete

We have been coming to Europe with our caravan for a few years now. Admittedly, we usually come earlier in the year than this but we delayed our plans because we didn't know what the brexit ****shower was going to bring.

We are members of ACSI and always use their sites, whether Municipal or not. We have never booked and never had a problem getting in. We arrived in the famous Val de Vesle site yesterday about 2:30. The lovely lady who runs the place said that she had only one pitch left. Today she had a "Complete" sign up outside the office when we left late morning for our trip into Reims.

I have read on this forum many times that there is no need to book outside of July and August but maybe times are changing.

On a similar note, we met an English couple here yesterday who asked if we had met many British people on our three and a half weeks of travel. I told them that we had only seen three couples which was one more than they had seen over the same period, including us. The Club's sites must be pretty full or people are staying at home.

In a caravan or motorhome?

Posted on 24/06/2019 11:50

Is staying in a caravan or motorhome a prerequisite for spotting the sorts of things Dunclair was complaining about then? undecided

Lived, worked, went to school, stayed with relatives and holidayed in many European and other worldwide locations since 1957.

I know your not really interested in other people’s experiences but I could list them for

But of course it would have been a much "better holiday?" in ADs case as he is more finacialy better able to afford them than most he statedsurprised

This is a caravanning forum. I have been to many places Africa  ,Australia India etc but don't regard hotel holidays in those countries as a qualification for commenting  here on the pros and cons of European caravan travel. A rail trip to Lake Garda does not make you an expert any more than being in a German traffic jam sitting in a coach. If you want to contribute here  please observe the community guidelines and stick to those places you have been and stayed under your own steam.

Yes  I am smittenwink and its the only reason I ever owned a caravan. We  are on our 40th trip together  and I had 10 years with my late wife too. We would need to be pretty odd people to keep doing  something we don't like wouldn't we? smile

Strangely though we have diehard CAMC fans here who never go caravaning without encountering  all sorts of anti-social behaviour from other members  ,speeding, noise at 9:25, unsupervised children ,early arrivals, late arrivals, dogs and the list goes on. When did you last see a post along these lines about a continental site? If we find someehere not to our liking we pack up and move it's that easy although rarely ever been necessary.  Looking forward to 51 and begun planning 52 and 53

We have also encountered what your diehard cc fans have encountered, and not always on UK sitessurprised

Let me put it simpler. A bit of honesty about past experiance wouldn't come amiss as "when I used to travel" "lots of places " etc dont impress

Posted on 24/06/2019 12:18

You asked and did not Specify, but then i expect with your attitude to others who do not now go over there, with an LV ,your post,is a bit pathetic,as how ever any one travels ,the sight from any form of ground level transport is the same or even better when not driving and admiring the scenery  rather that as should when driving, look where you are going and what others could be doing ,and more so in some countriesundecided

If you question everything others write, you must think they aren't telling the truth so why should anyone believe anything you say
