Site Complete

We have been coming to Europe with our caravan for a few years now. Admittedly, we usually come earlier in the year than this but we delayed our plans because we didn't know what the brexit ****shower was going to bring.

We are members of ACSI and always use their sites, whether Municipal or not. We have never booked and never had a problem getting in. We arrived in the famous Val de Vesle site yesterday about 2:30. The lovely lady who runs the place said that she had only one pitch left. Today she had a "Complete" sign up outside the office when we left late morning for our trip into Reims.

I have read on this forum many times that there is no need to book outside of July and August but maybe times are changing.

On a similar note, we met an English couple here yesterday who asked if we had met many British people on our three and a half weeks of travel. I told them that we had only seen three couples which was one more than they had seen over the same period, including us. The Club's sites must be pretty full or people are staying at home.

This is a caravanning forum. I have been to many places Africa  ,Australia India etc but don't regard hotel holidays in those countries as a qualification for contributions here.

. If you want to contribute here  please observe the community guidelines and stick to those places you have been and stayed under your own steam and reserve package trip reports for general chat.

Well, what an odd response. You setting yourself up as a moderator then  David? Isn't this section about overseas sites "& touring"?

I have been referring to Dunclair's comments about what to expect in the UK, which were nothing to do with caravanning specifically. Maybe you'd like to challenge him about those comments?. How you arrive in a particular location is entirely irrelevant to observationse such as that.

But if you want an example of somewhere we've visited recently, I could mention a visit to Pompeii a couple of years ago - UK tourist spots could certainly learn a lesson or two about money grabbing, dirt and rudeness from the traders there!  frown

Btw, I’ve straightened up your avatar pic for you. Happy to help👍🏻

I give in JVB there is an expression in the potteries (and maybe elsewhere ) "it's no good knocking when there nobody in"

It seems we have been trying that saying with you for most posts then surprised

  • What a waste of time thato was, just as I am about to change it for my new van . You obviously have too much time on your hands but when  I do replace it you a welcome to level it up if need be.
  •   In the meantime have a look at the guidelines about being truthfull

I thought that was your new van🤔. Thanks, I look forward to the new pic👍🏻

Is this the bit of the guidelines you’re referring to? "Be truthful about your experiences." Surely you’re not suggesting people are fibbing?😧 Nowhere can I see anything saying trips must be made under our own steam.🤷🏻‍♂️

You thought wrong thenwink that's the leaky Lunar and it's been there for a couple of years now, strange you missed that since you obviously take much interest in my movements.

Posted on 24/06/2019 16:05

A couple of years, really? Until recently on my machine there was a pic of you which this smiley always reminds me of😏. No offence, it’s actually quite cute.

Sorry to disillusion you, but I take no interest in your movements. What’s the new van, then?
