A number of specific questions have been raised about what might happen after 29 March 2019 when the UK leaves the European Union (EU). We've identified some information and advice for people travelling abroad with caravans and motorhomes in the hope that it will help you find out what impact Brexit may have on your holiday plans. You can find this here: Travelling after Brexit

We will also try and keep you updated with relevant information on this discussion and please feel free to share information and advice with each other. We do ask that no conversations about politics devhttps://www.caravanclub.co.uk/overseas-holidays/useful-information/travelling-after-brexit/elop - as you know this can often get heated! As such any political comments will be removed but we would really appreciate any constructive comments and information shared.

Latest Update: January 2021

New rules apply for travel to Europe from January 2021 and you need to take extra steps when travelling to a European destination. You should follow the UK Government travel advice before you travel abroad, including the latest developments and advice on foreign travel during the COVID-19 pandemic. The issues will be ongoing, WTG, as leaving on 31 Oct is not set in stone and we could go at any time. I’d leave things be as far as this thread is concerned.

In which case, could you please remove posts which clutter up the thread? Keeping track of developments is (and will be) hard enough without having to plough through extraneous chatter.

But WTG are you not just adding to that chatter with this sort of post which should more correctly be sent direct to the Community Manager? I think you have to realise that we have a very, very small team of moderators on this forum which we undertake on a voluntary basis. Club Together is not the only focus of our lives! I will delete posts in this thread which I feel are not directly on topic as I see them but I don't have time to wade through 300 or so posts.

Just to remind people this thread is about adding information and questions about the possible ramifications of Brexit as they affect people travelling to Europe before or after Brexit. Clever quips and posts not dealing directly with the subject matter will be removed.

WTG I am sailing on 27th April. I already had 2 green cards and was holding off IDPs till April 12th - I am not getting IDPs based on what I think has happened this week - 31st Oct.

My post yesterday, asking as you are if I'm correct in doing so, or did I miss something, has been removed

Moderator Comment - You post has been slightly edited and restored.

Nothing is going to change in the next month or so and the only real risk, now averted was a no deal crash-out. So I am going with my normal documentation.

I leave in 2 weeks time and return mid June.  I assume I need an IDP in case we come out before I get back. 22nd of May keeps being mentioned on various news channels as possible leave date to avoid European elections. Or will there be a transition period?
