CY, cancel your plans to travel over there, make a stand & refuse to fund this ‘petty bureaucratic mindset’ that prevails in Brussels. Stand with your head held high, that’ll show em👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻

If I, or any other LV owner, was inclined, there are sufficient obscure stowage locations on board that the monitoring/inspection of it could be rendered impractical.

I see the regulations allow 20Kg of fish so that should confuse any sniffer dog. wink

You could stick a stowaway in there to bring back & earn enough to cover your break over there👍🏻. . .You are most welcome👍🏻

I’m not sure they really understand caravans anyway. A few years ago, ours was searched at Zeebrugge. Looked in cupboards, fridge, toilet but failed to lift up the fixed double bed.🤔

I'm not quite sure why people are surprised. We have had decades of not needing to worry about all this nonsense, but once we left the EU we still somehow expected to have the benefits, such as easy travel. These aren't just EU rules, they also hold for other countries, to which you have never been allowed to take foodstuffs from the UK. That is why it is a good idea to be inside a club rather than outside it looking in. As for those who say they won't be going to Europe again, that is their choice.. all the more room for me on Eurotunnel!

Yup and the French, Spanish etc likewise, can just see the uproar in Spain if they were to be faced with lots of container trucks full of roting vegetables lined up at the ports. undecided

Yes, let's all do without food for a while..that'll show 'em!!

When they have searched us Steve , and its almost ever year at Ouistreham and Zeebrugge they have been very thorough. Sure you could hide a tin of spam but not much chance with an illegal migrant. Even looked in the roof box last year.

Perhaps you or yours have that certain 'look' about you laughing.

According to Simon Calder in the I today these regulations  are simply the same rules put in place  at the time of the F&M epidemic and our Government  has chosen to accept them.

BTW in answer to a readers question about dog food his answer is that he sees no exemption for it.

There was an exemption for a curtain quantity of dog food according to a government site
