A number of specific questions have been raised about what might happen after 29 March 2019 when the UK leaves the European Union (EU). We've identified some information and advice for people travelling abroad with caravans and motorhomes in the hope that it will help you find out what impact Brexit may have on your holiday plans. You can find this here: Travelling after Brexit

We will also try and keep you updated with relevant information on this discussion and please feel free to share information and advice with each other. We do ask that no conversations about politics devhttps://www.caravanclub.co.uk/overseas-holidays/useful-information/travelling-after-brexit/elop - as you know this can often get heated! As such any political comments will be removed but we would really appreciate any constructive comments and information shared.

Dont knock it , it does say

"The export of Cornish goods could start as early as next month."

this would be a great result for the Cornish fishing industry, and maybe some parts of agriculture would benefit ?

"Mr German added that there had long been discussions about a passenger ferry link between Cornwall and Brittany, and this now looked more likely, but it was a “step for the future”."

so maybe not for  holidays makers just yet, but best to think positive laughing

I think the key word is 'could'.

The issue is both simple, we are now outside the EU, and they will likely not change their rules on imports of 'uncleaned' shellfish for the UK, and complicated with claim and counter claim regarding who knew what and, what can be done.

It is to be hoped that some way can be found to enable the exports to resume but, amidst all of this one thing is clear-there is absolutely no apparent need for a direct ferry link with France.

BF run out of Plymouth and the only thing that would, to me, seem even a faint possibility would be additional sailings from there.

I think that sums it up nicely.

Plymouth would indeed be the logical answer with Falmouth being the prime choice in the unlikely event of their being a new Cornish route.

Indeed it is a shame they could not sort something out. For the MH, I’m not sure we legally need it, as the Certificate of insurance states the third party element is covered, even though we are not part of the EU. However, clearly with a fairly new vehicle it needs fully comprehensive cover. Comfort our insurers included one that lasts the term of the policy.
