Ability to chose hardstanding pitches on all sites

I want the club to look at giving members the option to chose hard standing or grass pitch on the sites where standard pitches can be either or.
This season I have experienced problems on a few popular sites whereby I’ve booked a standard pitch with awning only to turn up (at a reasonable time 2-3pm) to find there are only grass pitches left. With a 4.5 tonne Motorhome this makes me Cringe. With all the rain we’ve had grass pitches have been really soft and twice we’ve had to get off using mud runners.
I’ve also seen many other Motorhome sand larger caravans struggling to stop wheels sinking in or awning being like mud pools. There have been several reviews around on some of these sites were members have stated they’ve booked a std pitch with awning expecting hardstanding, as on sites that are all hardstanding, only to turn up to be told only grass left and these have been very wet and several not fit for purpose.
The sites that I experienced problems with and heard from other members that have major issues are, Tewkesbury, Hurn Lane, Seacroft, Hill Head and Gowerton. There are probably others.
I know some people like grass and that’s fine, but if that’s the case let them book them and let those of us who literally hate them cos they are not suitable for modern caravans or Motorhome chose hard standing.
I don’t even mind paying a bit more for hard standing but I do object to paying the same for a poor quality, inferior, soggy under sized grass pitch ( lots of these at Tewkesbury and Hurn Lane ) . It should be personal choice so give us that choice and I think you might find there’s a drop in bookings at these sites, perhaps that’s why you don’t put in in the information options.
Of course the best option would be to do away with soggy grass pitches and make them hard standing or at least increase the proportion of hard standing . So come on CAMC give us the option on all sites so that we’re all getting the same value for our money and not getting Stuck in the Mud which is we’re the club seems to be .

Sorry but I just don’t think it’s necessary to get personal and there’s nothing wrong with the working class 🙂🙂

Did I get personal and did I say (just like KPMG) there was anything wrong with the working class?

Actually it is you who is getting personal dividing up the world into male and female, I am non binary for your information thank you!

In any even there is no point asking my 'wife' what her views are as they will be the same as mine. That is due to the simple rule that I get to make all the important decisions. While my life partner (wife in your terms) decides what are the important decisions. Anything to do with caravanning is classed as an important decision.

Well, for the benefit of the OP, there are lots of CLs with hardstandings, so until the new booking system arrives why not book a CL. smilesmilesmile

Thank you Brue for the comment, we do actually use some AF & CL sites but I do prefer the main sites in general.

They don't need them as they walk (or ride) and escort you to pitch

I’m going to reply because you’ve read my comment totally wrong.

1. I didn’t say you had got personnel, I was saying sorry re the moderator comments  and that I’d put up it because I thought some of the comments had been getting personal.

2. Re “like Kpmg” again I didn’t say anything personal, a smily face tongue in cheek “what’s wrong with working class ‘“ which I very much consider myself to have been before retirement.

I respect your position to be non binary, and how you make important decisions.
However that does change the point that women rarely comment on the forum,

And for your information my life partner and I like to discuss important decisions and make them jointly, a true partnership of two retired long life working class people.

btw how do you know that women rarely comment on this forum? Or there is a large percentage of males?

I'm just wondering, unless clues are given, how can you tell the gender of the poster in most cases? Don't assume all are males.

Excuse me but why are you ending all your comments with the shouting emoji, it’s really not necessary and a impolite

Posted on 10/09/2021 17:11

Thankfully there's also a lot of CL's that are all grass pitches as well.

Looking out at countryside/coastal/sea/lakes is much more relaxing than looking out on a glorified car park.

Each to their own preference but I have no great desire to step out of the caravan onto gravel. I can do that at home on the car parking area.

That is a surprised emoji not shouting one

If you copy it and paste into a reply you get this  'surprised'

Good morning and thank you for all the comments re the opening thread.
However there does seem to be a few comments that have gone off piste and have also got a bit heated.

Testosterone was flying around a bit yesterday, relating to strength with hammers and ability to perform physical tasks, so can I please ask that we refine the mud slinging and play nice and that we please try to stick to the topic of the opening thread.

It would also be nice to hear some comments from the female members and partners on this and any thread instead of the male prospective a large % of the time . Please ask your wife’s, partners etc what they think and would they like to add comments.

I’m off to pack up now for a trip next week on a nice CAMC Affiliated site which gives me the choice of grass or hardstanding or HS with EHU water & drainage . Guess you can guess which I’ve gone for cos I like to use my lovely Moho facilities. 😊😊

Keep the on topic comments coming I will be reading

Cheers 🥂👏
