C&CC closing sites

I read elsewhere that C&CC are closing some sites and cancelling people’s bookings due to staff shortages. Sure enough, it's true and they've updated their website today. I hope nobody here is affected.

Corners, If you don't believe me about the lack of inviduality of Club sites then see what the Trudgians have to say about them.

Ah, the guy who bought his first caravan only a few short years ago. I'm sure he can tell us a lot about all sorts of things but he seemed a nice guy. He posted here when he bought it but you'll not remember as the name MikeyA was unknown here at that time.

The C&Cc took 9 sites off their list, 2 are due to re-open next month. CAMC have just closed 3 sites, all due to labour shortages.

It's quite disconcerting to be on the receiving end of a cancelled booking especially if like us you were hoping to go to a certain area for a particular reason. There is a likelihood that local CLs might save the day in these circumstances!

Hope you manage to sort something Brue. We are currently planning a trip. Club have made it easy for us, there are no Club Sites open in area we are off to, so no unwelcome surprises.

You do have to take a deep breathe and wonder though. The largest touring network in the country, a multi million pound business, folks joining in droves this last year🤷‍♀️ There’s something not right somewhere with staffing. 🤔 Doesn’t help of course that you have to provide your own accommodation to work at most Sites, even if it is rent free. That cuts the recruitment pool significantly.

Luckily we were OK TDA as time was on our side, just our luck that we'd planned an all club site trip just in case we had to cancel anything...but it obviously can work both ways!

Does it really matter what others think. Surely it is more about what the individual likes or wants. In this country where booking is the norm, I am very happy with the sameness of both the CAMC and C&CC offerings. You know, more or less exactly what to expect and although there are a few places we wouldn’t go back to, that wasn’t down to the quality of the sites. Over there where we don’t have to pre book, we are more flexible. If we don’t like the look of it, we move on.

My thoughts too, Steve. Why would anyone care about another's view of sites is when all that matters is whether we're happy with them? And an awful lot of people seem to be.
