New booking system with deposits

I haven't seen any confirmation or otherwise regarding this but have just read it on Faceache with a date of 25th June being, allegedly, given by a member of site staff for implementation.

UP TO DATE INFORMATION ON BOOKINGS

We are normally able to book for next June from today.
However this isn’t possible as the website is moving over to deposits in the next couple of weeks.
So at this time we cannot book anything for next June until the system is live.

I'm wondering if everyone is getting this email, I think I assumed wrongly yesterday that it was going out to people with forward bookings. I presume now that everyone should get one?

Brue

If its this one entitled "Important update - your UK Club campsite booking is moving to the new UK booking experience" dated 12th August I would think that everyone with an outstanding booking has had one? THis is the only one I have received, thus far, about the new booking system.

Yes that's the one. After my experience with communication preferences I'm wondering who gets what!?

Hopefully they will as without it you would be hard pressed to find the page it takes you to by clicking on the link.
This has the extension / Existing bookings on new system to How to book a site.

If you go in through the web site using Find a UK Campsite, then Useful information, then How to Book a site, you get stuck there. Unless I am missing it there doesn’t seem to be the option of accessing Existing bookings on the new system.

Really this sort of information warrants a pop up when you enter the site informing you of its availability. Not to be hidden away in a dark corner.☹️

I haven't had an email, but I haven't any site booking.

I see that migrated bookings will have an M in front of the number so this will indicate when the system starts to work in the right direction.

I agree Steve, a pop up or banner might alert more people.

Maybe we ought to know if the e mail is going out to all?

It is very disappointing that the Club communication is so poor. The Club policy is that site bookings can be made on a 12 month rolling period but someone has decided to stop this without communication to members. I guess it is all linked to the new deposit scheme.

Why should members who follow the rules in respect to site bookings and cancellations and always show up on time at the site be penalised by having to pay a deposit.  Maybe this new approach should be applied only to those who abuse the rules.

Meanwhile loyal members cannot book holidays in line with the Club rule - 12 months rolling.

Not good.

12 months rolling? Anyone remember 'frenzy day'?

Posted on 14/08/2022 11:36

Oh yes, the switch to 12 month rolling wasn't long ago.

We'll see a similar thing when they eventually release booking dates for next June, July, August.... 🤨

It's clear that there have been a few false starts with the new system which has resulted in a pause to being able to book a year ahead, complicated by the fact that the cut off date seemed to be in the middle of a popular holiday period. The temporary suspension of bookings was likely done to stop the number of bookings that needed to be transitioned to the new system which might in turn caused more delay? If the rumours are to be believed the problem should resolve itself in the coming weeks, perhaps sooner than we think?
