Parking a motorhome in Cirencester

We are having two nights at Cirencester Park site next week. We want to go into Cirencester to meet relatives for lunch the day we leave. The site said we can't leave the motorhome there until we get back from lunch because of the one way system. Does anyone know of anywhere we can park the motorhome (6.2m long) in Cirencester? I looked on the council website but there wasn't any help there. We can use car parks and pay for two spaces but any advice would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

Providing there is availability, you could book on for an extra night, Ieave your MH on the pitch while you go out and depart at any time you choose up to 1200 the next day.

We were staying for two more nights but have to be home for Friday evening now. Also I do resent paying for another night for only around 3 hours extra. Of course motorhomes do leave site at any time so can mess up the one way systems on site entrances.

Don’t know if the regs are the same in England but here in Scotland we had to wait before we could go onto site because someone was late leaving. Apparently the test and trace, or what ever they call it in Scotland, stipulate this. That way there is a cut off on who could have mixed with who on a particular day.

Can’t help with any parking in town. However, Dobbies on the road out towards Swindon do decent lunches. We have parked our MH there on a couple of occasions to visit the store.

Really? That surprises me as I'd not resent paying for the night if it provided an easy and convenient solution to the problem. Still, it's your choice. Hope you work out a way of resolving the issue.👍🏻

Beeches car park should be OK too- have a walk round town the day before to check them out.  Although I would drive out to Fairford  and invite your friends for lunch at the Bull Hotel.

Thank you all for your help and advice. Looking on Bing maps aerial view the nearest car park to the site is Station Car Park so we will probably try that one first and will be there before 9.00am as we then get the best choice of places. After that Waterloo Car park looks good to try. If we can find a space where the back of the van can be over grass or something then it will fit in one space. Hopefully all will be well.

Not sure if it is still available  but we have seen at times motor caravan parked on the access road as you turn off the main road towards the site?

I think for security and EHU I would book an extra night on site, at pitch and one person ,and leave that evening for about £15
