Parking a motorhome in Cirencester

We are having two nights at Cirencester Park site next week. We want to go into Cirencester to meet relatives for lunch the day we leave. The site said we can't leave the motorhome there until we get back from lunch because of the one way system. Does anyone know of anywhere we can park the motorhome (6.2m long) in Cirencester? I looked on the council website but there wasn't any help there. We can use car parks and pay for two spaces but any advice would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

Thank you for the suggestion of paying for another night but the site is full. Interestingly, reading the site information it talks about the new single track road into site and vehicles leaving. 'Please take extra care and be aware that storage users and motorhomes may be departing site at other times.'

When we get there we will look out on approach for possible parking and have a walk toward the town to check out car parks. It will just be nice to get away again and enjoy the area.

The access road is not as bad as many make it out to be, there are good sight lines from either end. You just have to be prepared to wait until the road is clear before proceeding.

Well we enjoyed our time at Cirencester and will certainly return. The 51 bus stopped in a pull in just beyond the exit from the site and took us to Cheltenham via the centre of town. From the bus we were able to observe The Old Station car park and could see plenty of possible parking suitable for the motor home. We are very early risers and so left the site before 8.00am the day we wanted to park and found a space where we could reverse over a paved area. This meant we were well inside the parking space. We sat and had coffee in the van with cakes I had bought from Waitrose 2 minutes walk away. We waited till 9.30 to pay for parking then had 5 hours for £5.00. We walked round the town in wild wind and rain but good shops to look at and plenty of charity ones for bargains. We returned to the van to change then walked to Cote Brasserie (2 minutes away) for a lovely lunch with relatives. Great trip and a nice change. I would recommend the car park but get there early for the front/top section, plenty of space in the lower area but nowhere to reverse over.
