Things are so fluid at the moment it would seem foolish to pay a deposit on anything unless there was a guarantee of that deposit being refunded or the booking moved? One major advantage of the way the Club does things, least we forget! We will have to wait until the 22nd to hear what the PM says about opening up but whatever way he does it I hope he is cautious. We don't get our second vaccination until the end of April so probably that will be the point when we start thinking about what we do next. I think those looking forward to going abroad will find it even more difficult because it not only relies on the situation in the UK but also in the countries wanting to be visited and the restrictions coming back into the UK. All seems very gloomy but perhaps the mood will improve with the weather?

The way things are going in the UK Govt-one of the best put downs we can use is-‘you are acting like a politician’👍🏻

It seems from reports around the world, that the same put down is in many countriessurprised

Agree with David, we have no plans at all for going abroad with the caravan this year and have made 4 UK bookings with the Club, and one privately owned but did not require a deposit until 3 weeks prior to the booking. Things are still very volatile both at home and with mainland Europe, and can't see the light at the end of the travel tunnel yet.

Agree also. We had a booking for a river cruise in France in May which we've recently moved to the corresponding dates in 2022. And we still have our holiday to Greece in September carried over from last year to consider but even that seems doubtful now, certainly if the quarantine/testing regulations are still in force. A friend will look after the dogs for a fortnight but adding a possible extra 10 days on might just be stretching the friendship too far! smile

I have Portsmouth Bilbao   ferry booked and paid for that has been amended multiple times since its original date  of April 2020. I moved it again just this week to account for our second jab but with no real expectation of being free to go then. However since its a flexi ticket its foc to change and its the only type of booking we will be making from now on.

Problem is AD the longer this goes on the less chance those companies who keep moving bookings will still be in business.  Brittany ferries are in severe financial difficulties I believe as are the rest probably and many sites who have seen little or no business may never return unfortunately.

No doubt those sites in the UK will have a boom year if we are ever allowed out again and will charge more to make up for the lost income of the last year and the shorter season maybe this year.

We have a few cottages booked over the year and a few club sites booking made last year when I wrongly thought this would be all over by the time the dates came by.

Certainly the club's booking procedures may leave many think they won't lose anything by booking if things change?

We have made several bookings for tour, hoping to be able to go ,and the reason? because of the already anticipated big rise in staycations, we have booked dates on sites while we could to give us a continuous  hopefully uninterrupted trip
