Why no speeding?

I know this is a thorny issue given the number of complaints on here about speeding on site - and I witnessed it many times.

However, we are currently staying at Carnon Downs near Truro - an Affiliated Site.

It is a very large site in terms of acreage and probably three or four times the size of, for example, Broadway but with a similar number of pitches. As a consequence, there are a number of long straight sections of roadway which you would have thought would have encouraged speeding.

There are no speed limit signs around the site and the only speed bumps are around the reception area.

We have been here almost two weeks and I have yet to see anyone exceeding about 5/6 mph on the site roads . Admittedly I haven’t been watching all the time - better things to do - but the absence of speeders is noticeable.

The only difference between this site and the club sites we have been on is that a lot of the roads are loose gravel rather than tarmac and I wonder if that has anything to do with it?
