I don't do Apple, but you must mean 500Kb (kilobytes not megabytes).

There will be other factors affecting the file size, of course. The bit depth and the aspect ratio (i.e. the number of pixels in the smaller aspect) for starters.

I'm sure there are many factors .... but just about every other forum on the Web will accept bigger pictures, even if they are hosted elsewhere.

I've reported this for you in the possible hope that someone at Grinstead might upload it for you ..... 🙄🙄

I find it impossible to upload a photo to my profile. I have reduced the size in pixels several times, and just tried again using above instructions. Picture appears inmy profile, and says "photo uploaded succesfully". Save and exit. Photo disappears. Been like this for 2 years now.

The pic is uploaded with this message, but wil not save in my profile.

If you have loaded a downsized photo onto your profile it might not appear until you clear your browser history/cache. Try doing that and you might get results. Others viewing probably need to do the same or at least press refresh to improve viewing.

Mine are reduced to around 800x600 if that's any help, the profile pics seem to have a life of their own and don't always appear straight away.

I've been trying to upload a photo today along with a couple of others.  I managed to get the other 2 loaded after their initial rejection for being too big even though they were both saved to about 470kbs. I had to further reduce them.

The one I can't get loaded is below 460kbs!!

This website continues to display its need to be updated to something that belongs in 2022 not 1992. I can only admire members fortitude in continuing to try to use such rubbish.

Just for info.  Seeing this post prompted me to look again at resizing which I haven’t done for some time - my laptop seems to ‘change/update’ some things without my intervention.  This is what I found after opening a photo taken with my old pocket size camera and put on laptop via sd card.  Resized to thumbnails.

There has always been a problem with different systems, CAMC have not achieved a general platform that works across all devices. When the site was upgraded many were left with blank profiles etc.

It gets boring when 1 tap solves all problems. Quirky is good as it makes us think & use the problem solving part of our brain. I drop my res to around 400kb’s it still looks good as it condenses on CT👍🏻
