This started at 8.5mb’s, reduced to 320kb’s⤵️. It holds up well when it’s expanded👍🏻

I was directed to http://www.rw-designer.com/picture-resize about 10 years ago and have used it ever since. It reduces perfectly for sending photos in e-mails, posting on forums, for sale adds etc.

I have it saved twice on my home screen, at 1600 [use 99% of the time] and 800.

You simply drag a full size image or group of images into the icon, press enter and you have a second reduced version of all your originals to save in addition to the original.

If you want to reset the definition you simply rename the icon with the definition you require, eg 400 or 3200. It is as easy as that.

I'm sure there are many factors .... but just about every other forum on the Web will accept bigger pictures, even if they are hosted elsewhere.

I completely agree. However, I was making a different point altogether. I cannot see the connection.

For sure, my own "avatar" was a total nightmare. I remember really struggling to get it down to size, although I can't remember what the limit is. I use Photoshop.

A different point again was that even after I managed to upload it, it took days before it actually appeared.
