'Twas certainly a GREAT Dorset Steam Fair for me , Brue , But now its "after the Lord Mayor's Show" I'm afraid 'cos the soggy stuff is dropping from the sky { sorry, DK, but Brian's been ever so good lately } so the tumble dryer is getting a full work-out !!
As for " children on camp sites " { a fraught subject else where on this forum today } the little darlings all appeared to be seriously shattered on their return from the Fair to their 'vans, tents or whatever. Plenty of gentle music to lull us all to sleep but, even those pop group sound-a-likes were silent after midnight !!

Yes that one we saw but the other had either a blue fuselage or writing on the sides.
Suddenly about 10 French registered vans turned up, huddled together in a type of ghetto.
We also went to Edeka shopping, I think of it as the German Waitrose
been really hot today, max of 34C at 6pm it’s still 30C

The front of our house faces more or less West so we get the late afternoon/early evening sun. It's the devil's own job to know what to do for the best - open the windows, close the windows!!! It's been 27 degrees in our bedroom for the last few days at bedtime.
Davidklyne similar to us but our front is slightly more north. I keep all upstairs curtains closed during the day, often the windows too. Opening up curtains and windows once the sun has gone off the windows. It helps a little, but doesn't solve.
Our Hall thermometer said 30c yesterday evening it's never said that when the heating is on 😲.
We joined friends yesterday afternoon who live on the same side of our road for a cuppa in their lounge with the fan on. We have all appreciated our north-ish lounges in hot summers but this year even they've been too too warm!

Glad the German trips are going well, looks and sounds very nice.
How lucky finding the electrical fault Nellie, doesn’t bear thinking about really.😱
Last night was unbelievably warm, rain but no thunderstorm here. Thankfully it has cooled off at last.
All you M&S and Waitrose Etc... meal deal users, make sure you check out the salt content. Some of the offerings are seriously high in salt. Ok every now and then but we are very wary.
Still raining here, but tomorrow looks a lot better😁

Glad you enjoyed the Steam Fair ABM, it sounds like a good event, our local steam fair is always very well attended.
Pleased your test results were good Brue.
Wherenext The Plum Festival at Pershore is a great weekend, they have different things on each day over the BH, and lots of Plums of course, it's free to attend too, but I always seem to spend plenty!
Good to read Germany trips and others are going well.
I've had an uninteresting day at work, but I have managed to complete the ironing and made a Plum Crumble Cake so been fairly busy.
Triky hope you enjoy your IOW trip and get plenty of R&R.
