Got back from Fisher Field yesterday after a great weekend away.  Downside is van is filthy bit that will have to wait, more important jollities to enjoytongue-out House more or less decorated although not bothering with outside

millie - I think I've found a foolproof way of doing it (well it worked for me).

I just right clicked on the photo, clicked on edit, then "resize" at the top of the page. Click on pixels and reduce  - I had to do it be trial & error but reducing by about 50% seemed to work. If you then save the resize and right click, then go down to properties it'll tell you if you're under the 500 kb limit.

(There may well be an easier method though!)

Also, if you click on the photo of the dogs you can see a larger version!

Besides your need to reduce file size to a max of 500 kB, you also need to resize to no more than 500 pixels wide so when the thumbnail is clicked on, the full photo will appear in the new window.

I resized to less today and the thumbnail was quite small so I'll increase the pixels. If you left click on the new photos on here it will expand for a better view.

My photo has vanished frown I added it on edit. 

I can see it again, I am bemused, bothered and bewildered...time for a cuppa! smile
