Right  now  I'm  celebrating  the  fact  that  I  didn't  get  SKY  so  I  could  watch ( so  very  nearly  said  enjoy yell)  the  England  v West Indies  test  cricket.  After  all  the  wonderful  reports  of  how  the  team  is  building  up  into  a  World  Beating  Side  it  seems  that  it's  just  another  race  to  the  pits.  I'm  getting  the  feeling  that  watching  Sunday  football  between  a  couple  of  over age  pub  teams  will  bring  much  more  excitement  &  pleasure  until  Easter Egg  Rolling  commences  wink

Sorry, Nellie, but Brian has not seen or heard of any sport today until the 7:00 pm clipping of Tour de F, cos he was out enjoying himself  wink. If he does not fall asleep over his keyboard, then he might, just might stay awake for the 11:05 clippings of the 2nd  match versus Pakistan.

Yippee we’ve just got word that we will be able to go to Headingley next Sunday to see England v Pakistan in the T20 international.

I wonder if the first team will be out of quarantine in time

A third ODI victory, and a clean sweep series win. All that with a team that was only assembled a couple of days before the series started, as all the original ones selected have had to isolate due to a member of the squad testing positive for Covid. Just goes to show the strength in depth that we have in this country at the moment.

And now another stroll in the sun, literally despite my watching a lot of golf  wink  !

One each with one to play.

Well that was very enjoyable. We had good seats in the long room and saw a really good game. I’ve never seen anyone hit the ball out of the ground at Headingley but Liam Lawrence did it twice! He hit one over the new stand that was a prodigious hit.

That and the catch by Adil Rashid were worth the admission money on there own.

Ben Stokes has done a great job captaining the England ODI team to two successive comfortable victories over the Pakistan team. Today was his 100th ODI and everything he has done as captain has turned to gold. The messages he would have given the team, to go out and play with freedom, have got through. The tactical bowling changes and the field changes he's made have been really impressive.

Sadly, Nellie, Ben Stokes has taken an indeterminate Leave of Absence from all forms of cricket to help his left index finger improve, and much more importantly, help him keep his mental condition on track.

i wish him the very best in his immediate future,  ABM

On another thread someone opined that it’s not cricket unless it’s played over five days with a red ball.

The only way this shower will take a match to five days is if it’s persists it down for two days solid. Mind you with this week’s forecast that looks distinctly possible.

Four more ducks in a test match first innings. Whilst this is certainly a “ test” I don’t see how it could possibly be called a “ match”. This lot would struggle to “ match” many a village team😱

Scary Roger, that the Selectors could pick a Red Ball cricketer with a tremendous reputation, but, alas, one who last played RB cricket back in February. He batted poorly and even his wicket keeping was a little ragged.  What did you say   oh sorry I should have said Buttler at the start shouldn't I  embarassed  Imagine selecting a team with Four Quick bowlers, No Full time Spinners and then win the toss & choose to bat.

I dread to think what the Aussies will do to this side, should the Tour down under actually take place Which I Doubt !
