Right  now  I'm  celebrating  the  fact  that  I  didn't  get  SKY  so  I  could  watch ( so  very  nearly  said  enjoy yell)  the  England  v West Indies  test  cricket.  After  all  the  wonderful  reports  of  how  the  team  is  building  up  into  a  World  Beating  Side  it  seems  that  it's  just  another  race  to  the  pits.  I'm  getting  the  feeling  that  watching  Sunday  football  between  a  couple  of  over age  pub  teams  will  bring  much  more  excitement  &  pleasure  until  Easter Egg  Rolling  commences  wink

Very sad to see that Jimmy Anderson is still struggling with that calf injury. it has been reported that he is making use of the facilities and medical staff at Manchester Cities Etihad  Stadium.

I have to agree Freddy, but I'd much prefer it if he'd retired at the end of a game, not after just four overs. frown. It would have been good to have clapped and cheered him into Players Retirement.

I agree. He’s been a wonderful servant to his country/team. A very smart and accurate bowler, he’ll be missed.

Now  I'm  humming  something  from  Les  Mis  --  I  think  its  called  # Bring  'em  Home # ( in  Steerage  of  course yell  )

They've  learned  precious  little  since  they  were  in  New Zealand !

Posted on 25/11/2019 10:05

And over the last five ( 5 )  days they've proved once again that, despite certain folk songs, the times are NOT  achangin' yell.

Yet again an Innings and 65 run defeat on a fairly flat track to an honest but not outstanding side.

The same comments apply now as late last year --  this is a rather different squad to the limited over thrashers, but just does not seem to be any more solid an outfit.  Thrash, flash and wave the willow seems to be the England Mantra across the whole cricket spectrum and, if you will excuse me, -- IT AIN'T GOOD ENOUGH !! so there  thrrruuupppttt tongue-out

Sad too, that some unsavoury language has been directed at Archer (Albeit just one spectator) The football chants have crept into the game and so it follows racism will not be far behind.

Desperate stuff all round

I think Archer may have done more good if he had just ignored the NZ Booby and not given him/her/it the press coverage on this occasion. Not that I think anything other than a ban would be fitting punishment, but most of the idiots accept a bit of Media coverage as a good result for their viewpoint.  As Rocky2B says we must hope that the vast majority of sensible New Zealanders will step forward and get the yob banned.

Ah, well as the scientists used to say,  now back to work.

I can't disagree with a single word you write Brian, but I guess these guys who are being racially abused are getting sick of burying their heads in the sand and remaining quiet.

In the current world climate on this subject, you'd need to be pretty moronic not to expect reprisals, should you be found guilty and it probably wont come from fellow spectators

Oh Dearie me, Brian's likely to have another night of broken sleep.

As mentioned elsewither the selectors have done it again surprised. First test an unmitigated disaster for England and what have they done ??  Strengthened the bowling ??  No chance they've dropped the only 'spinner' they have, wicket keeper injured in the gym so replaced with another 'keeper ??  No way they've turned to a part-timer who is  trying to cement his place as a batsman.  So now we have half a team of dodgy batsmen, some steady medium fast bowlers, a part time keeper and two out of form ( for test matches) batsmen expected to spin bowl.

52 minutes gone and we have only one wicket  { Batsmans fault - bad shot } for 39 runs.  Will they have taken another wicket when my alarm goes ??  Doubtfulyell

Scraped another Kiwi -- 2 for 39
