Well they’re off again, fingers crossed the race can get to the finish, given the horrible situation in France at the moment. Ineos aren’t really expecting great things this year, but I am going to be following a few Brits riding for different teams. Mark Cavendish obviously, it’s his last Tour, so fingers crossed he can get the one win he needs to become the top stage winner. Fred Wright, newly crowned British Road Race champion, always ready to head off on a break. The two Yates brothers, riding for different teams, and wonderful Tom Pidcock. Hope they all get to the finish safely uninjured, and with something to show for the tremendous efforts and dedication this race demands. 🚴🚡‍β™‚οΈπŸš΄‍β™€οΈπŸš΄‍β™‚οΈπŸš΄πŸ˜

We watched the last two days live, you cringe at what some of the crowds get up to at times. Interestingly, Peter Kennaugh (ex Sky Pro) was saying there’s a real drink culture taking hold now in some areas. Go to watch early, get drunk, do something stupid as bike riders go through. I think it was in Giro where they had roadside stewards hauling the idiots running alongside out of the way at times.

Such a shame yesterday for James Shaw, he was having a really good tour, then bang, down he went. Adam Yeats is looking very strong, doing a great job for Pogacar. So pleased for Wout Poels as well, he used to haul Chris Froome onwards to victory, great to see him finally take a stage for himselfπŸ‘πŸ‘

Yes it looks as if there is going to a real battle over the next couple of days for that third spot.

Unfortunately, I assume Ineos will support Carlos Rodriguez as much as possible, while Yates will have to empty himself in support of his leader. Fingers crossed 🀞he holds on to third.

Pogacar won’t give in, but it’s hard to see just how he can dislodge Vinegaard now. Stunning performance from him, but Pog’s effort would normally have beaten everyone. Battle for third place is going to be very interesting. I’m not sure how many riders Ineos still have in race, think they might have lost at least a coupleπŸ€”

Have enjoyed the guest presenters that have been on. Cadel Evans looked well, as did Marcel Kittel. Good insights from Ellen van Dijk as well, she has been excellent. Might try and catch some Eurosport cover as well, as they have Jens Voigt on a motorbike following. We always enjoy Sean Kelly……

Deadpan voice…..”oh that was incredibly exciting” 😁

Bad news for Tadej Pogacar but at least it released Adam Yates to establish a solid third place on GC.
Plus his brother managed to advance to fifth, whilst only just missing out on winning the stage.

Yes, both Yates brothers rode a brilliant race. It isn’t half nerve wracking though watching the descents.

I thought that Kasper Asgreen was going to win his second consecutive stage today, but not quite to be, missing out by a tyre's width. Good to see two successive breakaways making it to the line before the following pack. Tomorrow could be interesting, especially in the race for third place.
