April  starts  the  season  of  'Osprey  hunting'    for  me .

So  off  to  RSPB  Loch  Garten,  on-line  of  course,  and  the  sites  up, just  about,  but  no  Ospreys  as  yet.

So  over  to  Scottish  Wildlife Trusts  "Loch  of  The  Lowes"  Website  and,  and    Surprised  not  one  but  two  Ospreys  &  mating  in  full  view  of  the  cameras  !  Its  not  the  aged  "Lady"  but  a  new  female  now  in  residence,  so  we'll  have  to  see  if  the  old  girl  turns  up  at  all.  Well  she  is  believed  to  be  in  the  high  twenties  now,  darn  near  Geriatric  as  far  as  Ospreys  go !  I  understand  Rutland  has  a  number  of  arrivals   so  I  must  keep  watching  Loch  Garten  for  more  tales  of  Bad Bird  Behaviour  !!

Things are looking a bit grim at Loch Garten, ABM, as there's been no sign of the pair on the nest for the last couple,of days, although there is definitely still at least one Osprey in the area.

Sorry to be sooo late in responding, Nellie, but I've been playing with my new TV today  -- nothing's ever perfect straight out of the box is it frown.

I'll have a bit more time in the morning tho',  before the footy-madness starts  wink

Are the Brenig Ospreys the most unlucky? the destroyed nest was rebuilt but now taken over by a goose. No info regarding the vandals but hey its not a Traffic offence so what do we expect.

Let's hope that giant "cuckoo" clears off soon. But they have a second temporary nest  built on a hydraulic platform. Presently we are at Shawsmeed site and managed to take the opportunity of a break in the showers to visit Bwlch Nant yr Arian to view the Red Kite feeding, spectacular !
