What’s coming up, into bloom, not behaving, visiting, living in, passing through? Post a photo or two, and share your garden year with others ๐Ÿ˜

Hellebores, lovely bright crocus, and snowdrops.

After seeing on here a photo of a Salvia "lemon light", which I really liked the look of I decided I would treat myself wink I have spent weeks searching the garden centres locally and when we have been away without any luck, then I found a nursery not too far from home that grows Salvias and they listed it smile, we went there but unfortunately they had sold out of lemon light frown but...we came home with "cool blue" and "salmon dancer" embarassed since then I have also bought "clotted cream" embarassed I am pleased that all are doing very nicely in the border.  I am hoping that I will be able to get "lemon light" next spring when the nursery said they will have new supplies, I have made sure that I have left a place for it.

We managed to get a "lemon light" from an ebay seller and OH has taken lots of cuttings to prevent loss in winter.

In Hope Park in Keswick yesterday, love this Park and always look at the planting. Formal beds and areas to attract insects etc.

Salvia’s galore the beds at Harlow Carr, including Lemon Light. Beautiful drift planting beds, some nice exotics, and who could resist this cheeky little Robin, waiting for whatever folks could provide. Plants up in sale area were very expensive, I was tempted into an unusual Crocosmia, but £20 was a bit steep for a 1 litre pot, so will source it elsewhere.

We love to wander around gardens, always see plants we would love to have in our garden, but oh, those plant sales/nurseries at the end are such a temptation embarassedwinklaughing

Result today๐Ÿ‘ That lovely Crocosmia I spotted at Harlow Carr, I found the same one, a larger pot at Beningborough Hall (NT) for £10, so got one for half the price๐Ÿ‘

Just need to decide where to try and fit it in now๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜

Will post later HH, can’t remember name at the moment. I have a lot of Crocosmia Lucifer, the lovely scarlet one, and a nice orange one called Emily McKenzie. I think Crocosmia will be my next collection, they give so much back.

I’m having problems with my Crocosmia they come in spring all nice leaves and then they die off in summer all brown leaves. I used to grow them in 1lr pots then bury them in the garden , they came quite well , but in the garden NoNo...

Salvias do well here have got a few different colours and they cope with all this heat and I hardly water them.

Glad you enjoyed Harlow Carr Tda, hope to get to Rosemoor in North Devon this September when we are over now I have got the new RHS card and will do some other gardens as well.

It is too hot at the moment to take any photos everything starting to look a bit brown.

I was quite surprised just how much water Crocosmia like. Because we have had a lot of rain in July, ours has done very well. I do split mine as well, as they tend not to flower as well in very large clumps. The one I really want is called Harlequin. The one I got in Beningborough is Columbus.

Harlow Carr had a lot of wonderful Salvias, all sorts of colours. With luck, we might get across to the RHS garden near Manchester at some point. Lots of partner gardens near us though, so plenty to go at.๐Ÿ˜
