Farewell my sweetheart

Today was not a good day.

I overslept and had to miss breakfast.

I slipped on the ice and the car would not start.

My boss was mad because I was late.

And today we buried the dog.

Today was not a good day.

I slept through a meeting where I was supposed to take notes.

I missed my lunch to make up for lost time.

I snapped at my friend who was trying to help me.

And today we buried the dog.

Today was not a good day.

I got home late and it was getting dark.

So I slipped on the ice again.

And swore in front of a child.

I'd left my keys at work so had to go back for them.

And today we buried the dog.

All in all, today was the worst day of all.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. It's just a couple of weeks since I lost one of my much loved Westies.

I really feel for you and hope that time will help you to heal. Remember all the good times.

ABM are you Serious?

Is any of this Serious??

As long ago as the 1950's we as children played a game: it  started with "Today was not a good day"

And ended: "And today we buried the dog"

I may be wrong but I don't thin 'katieb' has recently lost her dog, at least I can't find a post about it. Are we confusing the OP's name with someone else, and perhaps this is 'a poem'.

I'm sorry if I have confused anyone.  I have lost my dear little whippet and just expressed my feelings as per the original post.  She was the best companion I've ever had and literally saved my life when I was going through a bad period of depression.  My partner got her for me in order for me to have something positive to focus on.

Ive never heard of the game you played in the 1950s JCB4X4 - not old enough I'm afraid!  That probably explains your rather odd post earlier on - at the time I just thought your comment was rather heartless and ignored it.

Hi 'katieb', it was confusing as no-one knew from your post and no bad intentions were meant I'm sure smile. But you don't want this confusion right now so please accept my sorrow for your loss, she did you proud by helping you in a time she was needed, so remember those good times.

Take care

Thanks Dave and others.

I must admit I was upset by the first response but can see now that if he did play a game at school with the same words he may have thought it was a joke.

Anyhow, life goes on and it is comforting to have somewhere to 'visit' my dog - in the corner of our garden, surrounded by primula so.

Last word should read 'primulas' - predictive text can also confuse!
