Rocky, perhaps you could get a contract with CC....

get rid of all those gloomy trees at Cherry Hinton and turn them into chippings (nice ones) for their pitches....

better then those horrible hard things.....

Steady on, David, that's a C&CC site you're slagging off,  (twice), not a CAMC one! wink

But to be fair, I said something similar back at the start of the thread. smile

who gives a damn,

Ok, mostly it's just me and my camper, a 4WD <5m thing that goes anywhere, but seriously, I'm on grass at the moment with my Sisters caravan on a CAMC site and it's beautiful,

Cherry Hinton is on a lease and several parts of the site are SSIs so not a lot the club can do ,that is why we always head to the top end of the sitewink

The c&cc are cheaper than us

give you discount for paperless

have more off grid sites

but I , know about their pitch fees, I would  love to find out,

our club gears to comfort rather than original type of caravaning and high prices,

for our family to go on a club sits in school holidays will be £30.00 + per night, our club will say we give you ablutions block, e.h.u. laundry room,

who needs them vans now all have a shower, toilet and hot water

we will only go on a C.L. with NO E.H.U. and pay £6.00 per night max, run on gas and 12 volt with a 160 watt solar panel on the roof

it's time our club reduce prices, we not all rich

The Club offers choice.

You've made your choice by the sound of it........a CL

Isn't this view a little bit of a misnomer. Your "original type of caravanning" used to be no choice caravanning because the facilities we now have were not generally available. It might be a chicken and egg situation but did the Club react to members requirements or did it provide the facilities that members followed? As caravans improved in the supply of on board facilities it did provide the caravanner with more choice. They can either follow the minimum facility route or the comfort route provided by Club sites, there is a choice and with Club sites and CL's the Club is surely facilitating both? I could be wrong but if the Club were able to open a completely new site with no inbuilt restrictions they would always build as a full facility site as they know the majority of members would prefer that and they could extract the maximum financial return from such a site.
