Well, I've just had the email saying we have to register with the nhs test and trace app when arriving on site. As a couple we own standard old school phones which don't have the app facility so are we now discriminated against and can't enjoy our hobby?

That's what they tell you but do you believe them. To repeat myself I don't trust this shower of πŸ™ŠπŸ™ŠπŸ™ŠπŸ™ŠπŸ™ŠπŸ™Š

You may not trust them but I see that as no justification for refusing to help protect yourself and others.

OK, let’s assume for the sake of argument that it's a great conspiracy and everyone is lying to us to get our details. So what? Numerous organisations and Govt Depts have them. What does it matter unless you have something to hide?

For the App to have any of your details it would have to go data mining on your phone. The only thing you put in is the first part of your post code. Are you seriously suggesting that such an illegal practice is going on. Personally I think that is pure fantasy.

It's pretty clear that we are on opposite sides of the fence as far as the  NHS  Covid19 app is concerned. The best we can achieve is to agree to disagree. As for having something to hide would I engage in an online discussion open to all members no I would keep my head down and not draw attention to my opinions

I remain unconvinced that the app will be as useful as it is claimed to be and as such will not go onto my smart phone.

My final comment is stay safe and keep the discussions going.

It’s your choice entirely, WCC, but I ask that you consider the scenario I set out earlier.

Just a final thought WCC, it’s far easier to find out things about folks than by using an App. Just as an example, I think I might have a good idea where in Essex you live........  πŸ˜‰

If you are really worried just bear in mind that your entire life is easily available to the authorities.  Even if the app was to mine all of the information on your phone it would only find a tiny amount of what is readily available to the authorities from other sources.

The QR code is read by the NHS app not a general QR reader.  Have you downloaded the NHS app?

Both the NHS one and the Protect Scotland one, as we are up there at the moment.
