O.K.----What is the arrival time?

I book and it asks me --What Time? I tick a box saying 12.00 to2.00 and I know it is 1.00pm earliest. We have no traffic and get near at 12.30. Wait in lay bye and arrive just after 1.00pm. I notice many units finishing setting awnings up etc. Hey Ho. BUT I spend the next 5 days watching people arrive as early as 11.00am and be allowed straight on.

This happened over New Year at White Water site near Stockton. Will the Club explain is it Wardens discretion, is it totally ignored, are they happy with a rule that may as well be removed.

Totally confused!

Have on occasion arrived up to 30 minutes early at sites, mainly due to traffic being a lot lighter than expected. With it being difficult to find places to park up when towing I have trended to carry on and then check with the wardens (if they are not busy cleaning, getting pitches ready etc, etc) that it is o.k. to park up. I have never asked to be allowed on early but have been processed and checked in a couple of times, but have never been asked to go away and come back later (maybe something to do with being polite and asking with a smile).

Classic was arriving 10 minutes early at Wirral last year to find 1 of the drivers of the 3 motor homes already queuing having a melt down as they were not being let on early. The wardens arrived back from whatever they had been doing and shouted across to us all 'sorry for keeping you waiting' and this guy turns round and says 'no problem we didn't mind waiting'๐Ÿ˜‚

I don't arrive up to 30 mins early as I have the site post code in my Sat Nav that updates as I drive. If I am likely to arrive at 11.30 I will know that by well in advance giving me time to find somewhere to wait up.

The club asks members to arrive after 12pm but then asks wardens to be flexible and let early arrivals on site if there is room

The club needs to jump one way or the other.

During over 40 years of camping and caravanning, I have never arrived earlier than the No arrivals Before time. Nor have I ever departed later than 12.00 noon.  I believe in consideration for others, abiding by the site rules is the only way to achieve this.

I disagree K. The club has recognised that late stays can be accommodated without inconveniencing anyone and so give wardens the discretion to allow late stays on those occasions.

As a newcomer to the Club, I believe we should all adhere to the rules set out. If arrival is 12am then I wont drive before 12am. if by chance I do because of good traffic then I'll wait until 12am before I enter reception.

I'd be miffed however if I did this and people who arrive after me  were being allowed in "early". I suppose its a question of being flexible and always aim to arrive at the correct time and if I'm early then see what local policy is.
