Can someone in the know wind this forum up a bit. It's running even slower than a very slow thing!!!!

How strange that after days of crawling snail speed CT is now back to its normal self. Normal being only moderately slow.

It might be for you but today it's worse than ever. Cr*p.

I agree, It's one of the most poorly optimized websites I've had the misfortune to navigate. Pages take an age to load.

Please get your IT techies to check out the problem. Probably needs a new server or some such prohibitively expensive solution.

And no...it's NOT me.

So how much of our annual subs are wasted by Grimstead Towers on their useless IT system?

This seems to be a recurring complaint about the delivery speed and perhaps positive action is required?

Could the current tech team get to work or should they be sacked in favour of a new, invigorated one that cares?

At a ripe old age  (mid 70's) I personally am not tech savvy but nonetheless as an end user am somewhat dissatisfied with the current status quo.

I generally use my phone to post, works as expected always.

Yesterday I tried the computer, I noticed the hard drive was constantly in use whilst i was trying to post to the CMC web site.

perhaps there is no incentive to speed this forum up, after all the forum as i see it is only used by a very very small percentage of club members, a couple of dozen maybe?, and it has been said before, Facebook now seems to be the place to be, and club staff appear to be much more responsive to queries etc on FB, not that i use it a lot as i do find a lot of useful information on this forum. I only use this forum from home via a laptop and I do not have any major problems and the rest of the site e.g. booking sites etc seems to be ok. I do log off most days and dont keep my laptop under my pillow as a just in case laughing

Although this site does have its 'off' days, I don't generally find it slow.  I've just been on the C&CC website and that's far worse. I've also just been loading pages from my Bookmarks bar (ones that I haven't visited recently - so they're not in cache memory) and some of those took an absolute age to load.  So, by comparison, I don't find this site too bad. I'm using an iMac with not particularly fast fibre broadband.
