Hi all,

I've started a new discussion for the server errors as the previous one went off topic at times.

We apologise that you have been experiencing these. Please can you report these in this discussion and I will monitor to forward to the IT team.

Many thanks.

At last!  I have been trying for ages to log into this site, so that I can post something but every time I click the "Log In" button - nothing happens.  I've never known another site have so much down-time for 'maintenance" and when it comes back, it's usually worse than before the 'maintenance' was done!

I can think of a few 'amateur' websites provided by CLs etc with all singing and dancing on-line booking, interactive maps, guides etc etc which are an absolute joy to use.  Why an earth can't an organisation the size of this Club - with all the resources it has to call upon - do better than it is.  It really is disgraceful in this day and age.

I shall certainly look out for the ‘bam-cell.nr-data.net‘ on my laptop as I frequently get ‘waiting for’ messages. From what I've read on line it appears to be an information gathering 'tool' .  CT is very slow for me just now.

Have to agree it would be good to have some info from CAMC’s IT team as to why CT is so slow and maybe clarify if bam-cell.nr-data.net is part of the running of the CAMC site.

Don’t think it is a virus as such, more an information gathering tool. Given that the adverts only appear on the forum page, and not elsewhere on the website, and that it’s the forum that is so very very slow, I suspect whatever is going on is linked.

(As I say, I haven’t looked at any reviews today, so not sure how slow things are on this section of the website.)

I've seen one or two but don't know how much treacle they had to wade through to get them posted.

As I said in a previous post I did actually come on to the website to look at booking sites and look at reviews for CLs but couldn't get on. The forum can wait, it's not priority but the nuts and bolts of the business should operate better than this. Are we to start ringing sites direct to book or the club themselves?

Handing the problem to a Third Party was always going to look bad when things don't get fixed.

I think it would be useful to remove the adverts from the forum (Volvo and Club Shop currently)  as they always seem last to load and it could be the loading mechanism that is causing the problem for the forum?

But another issue is linking back to "Discussions" from either a thread or the Story Section or just trying to get the Discussion page to open. Once in its not so bad, although still not perfect.

Agree. It’s not Rowena’s issue to solve. You don’t shoot the messenger.

I thought it might just be the forum that was slow, but it took me ages to get into the main website, which is a big issue for the Club. Personally, I often walk away from difficult to use, slow, time consuming websites and look elsewhere if there are other options, so it could indeed become an issue for the Club if hundreds of others decide to do the same.
I don’t know if the reviews section is suffering from similar issues, but given just how many of us look at reviews to get a flavour for a Site or a CL, if this is also a chore, then that has other implications, and given that the reviews are just about the only shop window for the CLs on this website, then the owners are being let down as well. (As I say, I haven’t looked at any reviews today, so not sure how slow things are on this section of the website.)

Rowena is the 'Community Manager' .... who else do 'we shoot' then? Should she not be managing?

I am sure Roweena is monitoring this thread as she said she would. May be a good idea if she could update us with her thoughts or I T solutions, or work in progress.

This is a big part of the problem, no feedback, no information on what is happening, or acknowledgement that feedback has been taken on board and we do/do not know the answer to it. It seems the 'CM' starts a thread to appease members, then job done and disappears.

When 'Justin' (Service Desk Manager at CAMC) last posted about 18 months ago he kindly kept us up to date with information and steps being taken to try and sort the mess. Unfortunately we heard no more from him for whatever reason, and the problems then are exactly the same problems today.

When I tried to get on first thing this morning, nothing was working on several attempts, just a blank screen showing it was trying to load something. I presume they have even stopped putting up the essential maintenance screen.
