I have signed out on my PC, switched to my phone, resized and this the result. Shouldn't take long once you get the hang of it but use the systems advised for different phones.

iPad. Ok, got the app, just not sure about the setting?(Size/pixels)

Mine is an iPad as well. I just play with the width and height count until I’m happy with the pic and the size drops to something sub 500kb (red). Then I save the end result (blue).

It's pretty quick if you enable the app in photos so you can send the pic straight to it via the upload arrow.

Flaming grey bar!😬

I don’t like to moan, but it has to be said. For a website/forum such as this, one would expect to be able to upload/share ‘proper’ images, not these ‘piddly’ images πŸ™

Personally I think the 500kb size is adequate for forum posting. I still have the first digital camera I bought, at great expense, in 2000. It's high resolution mod was 500kb. True you can't zoom in indefinitely as you can with the multi MB images of today but it provided very adequate photos.

What I do think poor, is that the use of a third party App or other software is necessary. An auto reduce feature should have been built into the forum when it was updated. I can see the CC not wanting to use up expensive server space holding large images and videos but why no straightforward way to post a photo?

Why not? You seem very accomplished.

Sorry Freddy, I could not resist and it was meant in jest

Steve, 500kb is nothing now. Today’s cameras produce high res pics that are far more data rich and reducing them below 500kb degrades the quality. 500kb is behind the times.

I agree that auto reduction should have been built in and once again this forum shows its shortcomings. Others do it so much better.
