If traveling in Europe the Antargaz Calypso 10kg is a light weight bottle. It needs a 27mm clip on connection with what we call a butance hose to your regulator

I bought a 7.5 kg Safefill for exactly the same reason as the OP is asking - to save weight in our last van. We don't use a lot of gas so the economics didn't come into the decision but the instant weight saving did. Plus, it doesn't rust. I have a garage that sells LPG close to home so I pop in there a couple of times a year to fill it up and I am pleased with it.

I cannot understand some people, wants a lighter gas bottle to save weight but would just add more rubbish if they had more weight to hand. Lighter bottle to save what 5kg but would through a 30kg motor mover on the van or even air conditioning unit on the roof or a sat dish. Go through everything in the van and you could probably throw out more stuff that you never use and then keep the gas bottle you already have. Simples.

Or just carry the bottle in the car.

That is very true ,when noting what comes out of some LVs when pitching up on sites and that includes the latest upsurge in the motorised versions of caravan?,what amazes me is those caravans with front lockers that are stuffed full of "kit?",many kilo of weight ,when the hitch head has Max 100kg limit,

ps we start to carry our spare 6kg in the car after about 1yr of use of the one in the midships gas locker

Those who have front lockers wish to save noseweight as opposed to motormovers central(ish) to the van. No room in the car, it's full to the gunnels on the back seats, plus the dog takes priority behind the seating laughing
