Good location

Liked this CL site. We were on pitch 5 and looked across the fields so got to see the family of foxes playing plus plenty sightings of deer. Great location as close to the canal and also the bus into Oxford or Banbury. Kidlington is a nice little town. Facilities basic but fine for a CL site.

A lucky find

We were looking for a place to stay in our motorhome, within easy reach of Oxford by public transport and this seemed to fit the bill. The site was easy to find. although I was glad I had checked it out on Google streetview first as the sign at the end of the lane could be easy to miss. We parked in the only empty hardstanding, which was number 2, and hooked up. Note that the EHU is 10 amps. The fresh water tap was at the fence just at the back of this pitch so we just about managed to get our hose to reach. Caravanners were rolling their water containers up to it, but others may have to make sure they bring a very long hose, or they would have to drive up at the side of pitch 2 which could have been a bit awkward. There was a sign near the entrance (facing the wrong way for people arriving) asking us to pay at the bungalow along the lane. Mr Winters was friendly and helpful. He came quickly once when we phoned having tripped the electricity, and he was often seen just checking around. The black waste is also not far from the back of pitch 2 and as another reviewer noted, is basically an open drain with a loose cover on it. The smell when it was open was awful, and you had to be careful not to splash yourself. Aside from that, we were very happy with the site and its location. Buses were easy into Oxford, but don't fall into the trap we did and buy a 72 hours Oxford Bus Company pass, and then find its not valid on the Park and Ride and Stagecoach. Around the corner from the hardstanding pitches was another area without EHU that had lovely views over a field where deer would sometime wander. We would go again, but take some sort of mask for emptying the black waste!

On the list to return !

We have just spent 4 nights here . Easy to locate . Lovely site and welcome from Mr Winters who was very helpful . Plenty to do in area visiting Oxford ,Blenheim Palace, NTproperties etc either using own transport or bus service at end of road . Co-op nearby . Lots of lovely walks across fields and canal nearby . Slight background noise but not a problem at all. Roving Ruby Motorhomer

Very Disappointed.

I tell myself it is only £12 per night and I ask myself what do I expect for £12. No welcome at all I had to go find the house to pay. Unfortunately I have stayed at other locations for less and been amazed at the value. Arrived and I struggled to put the caravan in its space due to the ground condition which was very poor but there had been some rain. Connected everything up and my water heater tripped the whole sites electric? Called the owner of the site and he sent his son who arrived quickly but was eager to tell me it was my water heater with a serious problem but he had spare parts if I wanted it fixing? He does services for caravans but I got home and my water heater is fine surprise surprise. Also said kettles often trip the mains so I basically felt I couldn’t use the mains electric for anything. Normally there is somewhere for waste water but I couldn’t find it so I used the same place as the toilet disposal. Disgusting is all I am saying and watch out for the splash back. Early every morning the airport tests its air raid siren and I thought we were being attacked by North Korea so be aware of that. The train line is very close but you soon get used to that. Overall this is the only place I have stayed with the caravan club me & my partner have both said we would not revisit. Positives there is a field for walking dogs and you are close to Oxford and Oxford Parkway park & ride is 5 minutes away. Travellers are also using this car park and they weren’t paying anything and seemed to have better facilities for no cost at all. Sorry to be so negative.

Peaceful Location in the hive of activity

Lovely little site, just off a busy road into Oxford. Stayed on pitch one which was the worst, in my opinion, on the site. Pitch 4 & 5 were considerably better.  Great location for National Trust properties, Blenheim Palace & Oxford. ( park & ride near by) Mr Winters was very friendly and shared lots of information about the local area. Ate at the Olivster Indian Restaurant just up the road. Well worth a visit, food was delicious. Black Horse was a decent pub and served a wide variety of food at reasonable prices. Would definitely use the site again.

A Good Find for Visiting Family

We use this site a lot to visit family in Kidlington. We have arrived sometimes quite late and have stayed all year round and all weathers. Although there is train and road noise it is complemented by an attractive orchard and the regular sighting of a family of deer. The greeting is always pleasant from the owners. A good site to stay.

great little cl

This cl is situated on the main bus route to oxford and is the perfect base for exploring oxford, Oxford is 20 mins by bus, the Cotswolds and visiting Bleinim palace. Kiddlington itself is no great shakes but the site makes up for this. It is set away from the road on a well spaced flat grass site, there is a large dog walk field straight in front and the site is visited daily by wild dear. The canal is close by and you can walk for miles. The airport is close by as is the railway and the road however we never found the noise too intrusive and the trains stop at night. A good base for exploring the surrounding area. The owner is very friendly and at 11 pounds a night we thought it very reasonable.

Excellent base for exploring Oxford

We had a lovely 2 night stay at this campsite. A real bargain at £11pn (Feb 2014) inc electric. The location of the site is perfect for exploring Oxford - there is a bus stop almost right outside the site, the park and ride is 1 mile down the road, or you can cycle in like we did - around 5 miles into Oxford, largely off road or on quiet roads. The grass pitches are spacious and there is a nice view out over a meadow. Despite it being exceptionally wet during our stay we didn't have a problem getting off our pitch - and are a 3.5t motorhome.

We saw several deer in the field - a lovely sight.  The facilities are basic, but for £11pn you really cannot complain. Electric points on all pitches, a centrally located water point and a very basic ellsan point.  It is close to the railway and airport, but can honestly say this didn't affect our stay one bit as we barely heard any noise from these areas.  Easy access to a footpath along the canal for walking.

A fab CL in a great location at a very reasonable price!

A nice secluded site.

We stayed for one night only at this site at the end of april 2014. It's a lovely secluded site despite the nearness of both airport and railway. Neither of these intruded and on the morning of our stay, as we sat eating our breakfast we were treated to the sight of two deer which sailed gracefully over the perimeter fence and trotted gracefully around the front of our van and down the lane. A little moment of heavenly peace.          This site is level with plenty of space and there is access to all services such as shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. A very good site for visiting Oxford, which is what we did, and Blenheim is just round the corner. We shall be returning for a longer stay in the near future to explore the area further. The right hand turn into the access lane as you enter the site is a little tight but easily manageable with care. A basic site but EHU's well spaced and chemical disposal easy to get to and out of the way through a small gate. Bring your own filler pipe for the drinking water tap as there isn't one provided. Otherwise just enjoy the stay with friendly, helpful owners and plenty to do. We did.
