Wow what a great find.

If you want a site with great views ,smashing owner, wonderful area to explore with beaches close by to die for with no one on, wildlife in abundance well I have just found you the perfect spot. We stayed in August 2014 ( daft time to go for the midges, our fault) and had a wonderful few days. We had booked our next site in advance otherwise we would have stayed much longer. Treat yourself and visit.

Wild 94 Laid

Do you want to get away from it all? Do you want spectacular views? Then this could be the place for you? We stayed here for one night in pretty atrocious weather, seriously windy, horizontal rain & just the occasional glimpse of sun light & rainbows over the Loch before yet another storm blew in! When we arrived I thought the place was closed but we were greeted by the owner without even getting out of our van. Everything looked closed up but the two toilets were open & the water was on. It felt a little remote, desolate even, accentuated perhaps by the weather. This was like wild camping with a capital W but with electricity! & I don't necessarily mean that in a negative way. No TV unless you bring a satellite dish, no WiFi, No phone signal & oh so quiet apart from the wind & the rain lashing against the van. No pub nearby or Hotel the on site cafe was closed, so we had to self cater & just watch the scenery gradually disappear as yet another squall moved in. The ground was surprisingly well drained despite what the weather threw at it but the toilets were a little disappointing, in need of a clean but I've seen & used much worse. In summary it's a beautiful, wild, un-spoilt location, with dramatic views & a friendly owner but the facilities are in some need of some TLC

Probably the best view from a CL in Britain...

Fantastic location just above a loch which can be reached easily through a gated field. Hard standings and well spaced pitches with views for everyone to enjoy. Welcoming and friendly owner who also runs a small tea shop on site. Electric hook up newly installed and easy access to water tap, waste and loos. We only stayed one night but wish we had stayed longer, fully recommend to anyone looking for peace and tranquility with amenities. Ok you can wild camp but at this price and location why bother with all the hassle and insecurity, plus this way you are supporting a local business. Highly recommended!

Relaxed

Visited 94 Laid early May 2013. This site has some of the best views you will ever experience in our opinion. The pitches are all solid hardstandings with a good road to each. The owner has a tearoom on site too so we enjoyed a very reasonably priced cuppa and slice of cake each. The wildlife alone is worth the trip. Six o'clock one morning we went to Loch Eriboll which is only a short walk through the owners field. While we were there we saw numerous different birds and were lucky enough to have an otter come right up to the shore within 15 yards of where we were sitting. We were being very still and quiet and watched the otter have a scratch and a bit of a bask in the sun. When the otter did eventually see us it looked at us inquisitively for a few moments, then came a little closer before slipping peacefully back into the Loch and off for some breakfast. The owner has leaflets for walking up to the 2000 yr old wheel house up the hill about 950 feet up. The walk up is next to the burn and is a very nice walk, not too steep at all really, and it is lovely walking next to the burn with the sound of runnign water accompanying you up. There are two other walks within a half a mile from the site but we didn't partake of those. We did walk along the Loch which is a nice walk too. One the last day we were there the wind was completely still so we walked down to the Loch to witness an amazing flat calm water with Gannets fishing just offshore. Wonderful site.

Beautiful cl site

This is a lovely site with great views over loch Eriboll. If lucky a naval ship or submarine may be seen and tie up to the near admiralty buoy. Good near level hard standing. Lovely 5min walk down to the loch side thru fields. Can be a bit blowy if weather bad. Friendly and informative owner.
