Tranquil site

We spent a very enjoyable first visit to this site on the 13th September for 4 nights.everything is well organized, the view from the caravan is excellent and it is set in a very picturesque village with a hotel and pub with Michelin stars within easy walking distance.what more do want for £12.Excellent,will visit again.

Now top notch

We have stayed on this site for about ten years and loved it. The negative review was fair at the time but it is no longer like that and I hope the reviewer is able to go back as they would be pleased their comments were taken note of. The new toilet disposal and grey waste is fab. It still has the great views in a great area with a brillian pub and hotel. We have stayed when it's rained and still driven a fully laden motorhome off it not problem so don't be too put off by the grass pitches. We will always be back as love this site and the area. Good job to the owners whom we met when we arrived and I hope next door enjoy their retirement.

Tranquil basic site with access to Michelin Starrred Restaurant

Ignore the one previous negative review. This is a lovely, quiet, basic site set in a lovely village, with a short stroll to the Michelin Starred Star Inn, and also the lovely Pheasant Hotel. The site is all grass, with great long reaching views. Each pitch quite large and clearly marked out. There’s brand new toilet emptying facilities (just awaiting some final finishing when we visited (1/4/19). Each pitch also has its own bin and there’s recycling bins too. There’s a grey waste point a single fresh water tap and an information point with leaflets etc. Friendly helpful owners live close by in the village (5 min walk away). What more could you want for £12 a night.

Disappointing cl

We have stayed on many cl sites over the years. This was very tired, neglected and untidy. The areas near the recycling and the water were poor and need tidying up. Other sites make sure these areas have easy access not bits of uneven bricks dotted about as a trip hazard. The toilet waste area is the worse we have ever seen allowing you to view inside the waste tank as a dustbin lid is used to cover the hole. We had booked a week's stay with friends and won't return again here as there are far more superior CLs in the same area. Please tidy it up as it could be a perfect site especially as close to the beautiful village and Star Inn.

another return visit

We love this CL. It's not often you find a CL within walking distances to fantastic restaurants one of which has a Michelin Star. We have eaten at the Star Inn and the Pheasant Hotel and enjoyed both. The market menu at the Pheasant is great value and it is such a lovely place to relax and and eat. We can also recommend the Plough Inn at Wombleton for a friendly welcome and good food both in the bar and the restaurant. Great cycling and walking to be had from this CL - needed after all that good food. Looking forward to another visit.

Peaceful CL within walking distance of a Michelin star restaurant

We had a very enjoyable one-night stay at this lovely peaceful CL and it was just a 5-minute walk to the excellent Michelin star ‘Star Inn at Harome’ for a wonderful evening meal. It’s also just a short walk into nearby Helmsley where there are some lovely boutique shops and lots of nice cafes. There are no toilets or showers on site but as we have our own facilities this was not a problem. We’ve already booked another stay in July when we’ll be checking out the other local eatery ‘The Pheasant’. Can’t wait!

Tranquil

Just returned from a three day break & thoroughly enjoyed it. The site has wonderful open views & is very quiet. Located at the edge of the beautiful village there is nothing to disturb you. Wonderful walks to other villages. Buy an OS map & explore you won't be disappointed. This cl is now on our list of favourites.
