This was our second visit to this gem of a CL in London - both times to visit the Olympic velodrome. Once to ride round it (highly recommended) and this time to watch the World Cup. As it was at the beginning of a wet December the field itself was very soft and the two proper hardstandings were already occupied. But as the track into the field is good and hard and quite long we parked our motorhome on that - set well back so that other vehicles could get in and out if necessary. A brilliant place to get into London - we cycled in on London Cycle network recommended roads and it was fine. Last time we stayed in summer and had a lovely walk around the Fairlop Country Park. It really doesn't feel as though you are so close to the big smoke!
