TRANQUIL AND PRISTINE SITE

We were delighted to arrive at this tranquil and pristine site. We were welcomed by Mr. Watson junior and then by his father. The attention given to detail and cleanliness by Mr,. and Mrs. Watson is outstanding. We had a peaceful stay and highly recommend this CL site.

Perfect Little CL!

We spent a long weekend at Auchenwynd CL in mid-May. This was our first visit and in my opinion this is probably the best CL we have ever visited in many years of motorhoming. The owners Gavin and Sally are very friendly and have thought everything out very well on site, it is immaculate. The waste disposal, grey water and fresh water area is perfection! The site has two friendly resident chickens and the largest sheep we have ever seen, our little granddaughter really enjoyed the animals. There is a Co-Op in Maybole town, which is around a 20 minute walk and ideal for milk, bread and the usual necessities.

A gem of a site

After 8 great nights on pitch 2, I thought I should write and say what a wonderful little CL they have created here on the outskirts of Maybole. Grandchildren loved the little play area behind the pitches and we all enjoyed seeing the ducks and hens wandering round in the evening. Everything is to hand, recycling bins, fresh and waste water, Chemical disposal point. Three hardstanding pitches where it is easy to peg out an awning as well as two grass pitches. It was everything we wanted and more and we will certainly return, hopefully for longer.

Excellent site, immaculately kept

Stayed for 3 nights at the beginning of August after a recommendation from another traveller. Site is easy to find, with wide, flat, hard standing or grass pitches. There is a toilet and shower and water points in the corner. It was extremely well kept with short grass, a picnic table, even a small play area for the kids, along with a tame sheep. Site is a credit to the owners and very good value for money. It’s in a good location with views of the surrounding countryside. There is only one thing that could improve this site and that’s a pot wash facility. Owners wee very welcoming.

Great for winter stays

A really nice neat and tidy site, with hard standings which were perfect for our winter stay in February 2019. Good open views and space for the dog to wander. Decent sized pitches. The only issue we had was that it was quite windy and we did have to do quite a bit of re-pegging of the awning. Nearby Maybole is within walking distance and has all the basic amenities, Co-op, Spar, Petrol Station and even an independent butcher's, baker's and deli. The Maybole Arms serves basic , good value pub grub and is dog friendly. Although cash only. This site is close to the coast so is a good base. Culzean Castle is a great place to visit locally, as are all the local beaches. This would also be a good stop off site if you are travelling furher up the coast.

Beautifully kept site

We arrived here on a sunny afternoon after driving across road humps through a boarded up housing estate. The site is immaculately kept and the owner was cutting the lovely grass. When we arrived we noticed an annoying drone from the nearby sub station which was always there in the background. It seemed louder at night when it was still! This was disappointing for us as the site was ideal and we couldn’t fault it at all. There was also overhead power lines crossing the site. Obviously these things haven’t disappointed other members as there has been no mention of them. We never saw the owners again after our first day. We never used the toilet/shower. The site is ideally situated for sightseeing and Culzean Castle. Maybole sadly seemed a very run down town. Well done to the owners of keeping a beautiful site but the noise let it down for us.

A lovely site

The site was ideal for us & our 2 grandkids, & we stayed for 8 nights. The shower room was great as both children could be taken in together. The pitches were large & flat & great having hard standing as it was very wet. The site is well maintained & ideal for local attractions. We ate at the Kirkmichael Inn which was excellent & had a great varied children’s menu.
