First experience of CL site

Well a little gem and a great experience of our first caravan and motorhome club membership. We visited this site as it was voted campsite of the year in 2018. Site owner Craig & Sandra very welcoming and helpful and can’t do enough for visitors to his site. Well looked after with Wifi and the usual Elsan, water plus option of electric. Lovely to watch the boats go up and down the river. Nice pubs and only a walk along the river into Pershore. We certainly will be back!

Few days break away

I originally booked for seven nights. But shortly before departure I was offered a cancellation st the hospital so had to reduce our time here to four nights. Not having been to the site before upon in are arrival we could see any notices of where to go so we pulled on to the pitches opposite the river. We left the car and asked a man in a motor home where to go. We then saw Mr Brown. I felt he was a little off with us about stopping where we did. When I mentioned there was noting to say where to go his attitude was a more welcoming. Our stay was lovely the site is quite, grass cut short and collected. Water very near and the toilet emptying was excellent. We were provided with a sheet if paper with the WiFi code (but was intermittent and very slow). When it came to pay the book says £11.00 and according to the book was updated 2019. However wee were then told that it would be £14.00 as we had electric and WiFi. We were not told we had to pay for WiFi. I didn’t mind paying the £14.00 but would have liked to have been advised at the beginning of our stay. Please Mr Brown put up notices if where to go and who to see. andadvise people if the fees at the time if booking or when they arrive. Also we were Not advised if the washing machine etc either(not that I had the need to use them).

One of the best

We have just returned from 4 nights here. The site was easy to find (once we had negotiated the diversion around Wyre Road). We enjoyed looking at the boats in the boatyard which we had to pass through to enter. The site is through the boats, then right along the river. Craig spotted us straight away and advised us where to set up. Apparently in good weather the site is a small field in the far corner, which looked nice and peaceful, but it is more prone to flooding so he marks out pitches along the riverside, which was great as we had a lovely view of the river and boats. EHU and water available near to all the pitches. This larger field is used for rallies in the summer so as someone else remarked, if you want peace, check there isn't a rally. The pitch was almost perfectly level, with well-maintained grass. Used the wi-fi which was fine if a little slow. There was a coin-operated washing machine and tumble dryer available in a small outbuilding and the Elsan point was near this. The water hose to flush the point and clean your cassette was rather slow, and that's the only negative I can think of, regarding the actual site! The only other problem we had was trying to use public transport to access nearby places such as Worcester, Great Malvern or Evesham. Plan your timetable well! We are motorhomers, so like to leave it parked up and walk, cycle or use public transport. Buses to Pershore don't run every day, the railway station is quite a way out of Pershore, and the buses from Pershore to the above towns are infrequent and don't run very late. However, we loved our day in Worcester. We walked along the river to Pershore several times, day and night, and it was fine (take torches and stay near the river when there's a choice). Pershore itself has plenty to offer. We especially enjoyed the pubs serving real ales. We would happily visit again.

Lovely site

Ventured here on our trip south as a stopover. Firstly ignore the sign saying your sat Navy is wrong, it’s not. Ours took us strat to the site. Drive into the boat yard and keep left. Could not see a sign for reception. But out of the blue, the chap found us. As we we’re staying just one night and the weather was bad. The man said stay in the car park and ehu to the nearest point. Which we did. The site is right by the river and if the weather had been nice we would have taken to exploring. So can’t rate anything really. But we will come back.

Overcrowded

We stayed here for 1 night, a Thursday. Unfortunately, there was a rally setting up for the weekend and the CL already had 7 units on it when we arrived. There is a field next to the CL which was crowded with caravans for the rally and we were told to find a place on this field. We had to pitch very close to the neighbours and there were still more units arriving – not pleasant, peaceful or tranquil! We did have a nice walk into Pershore and back, during which we spotted a CS just down the road which looked much nicer and wasn’t crowded. We wished we’d gone there!

A hidden gem

This was our first Cl site and what a gem we found. We stayed here for three nights, we so wish we could have stayed longer, even our dog didn’t want to get in the car to leave. It isexactly as others have said, so peaceful, and tranquil. We were lucky with the weather, but to be honest I don’t think it would have mattered if it rained, there’s just a serenity over the whole site. There are no toilets or showers but we had our own facilities in the van so this was not a problem. Lovely safe walk to Pershore along the river. The Anchor pub is situated in Wyre Piddle about a ten minute walk is lovely, situated along the river with a large seating area outside, dogs are welcome and are even offered a biscuit, staff were very friendly. We will certainly be visiting this site again, it is a credit to the owners.

The best site we have been to

Avonbank Meadows has to be the best CL we have been to since we started caravan/Motorhoming 17 years ago. The whole experience was calm, relaxing and stressfree from ringing up Craig to make the booking to arriving and setting up and then just sitting back and enjoying the area. The CL is right along the river Avon and you can sit and watch the boats or take a leisurely 20 minute walk following the river into Pershore, where you'll be st a loss of which cafe to have your coffee and cake in. The whole site is spotless and so obviously loved by its owner and we will be back as soon as possible and would highly recommend it to our friends

Best site I have been to by far

This is the best site we have visited by far, perfect location along the river, clean, quiet, lovely walks close by, Pershore town centre is a lovely walk along the river via a couple of lovely fields with benches to sit on and watch the boats sail by. Cycling is nice and flat, catch a train to almost anywhere with ease. You can swim or kayak in the river Avon from the site. There is a lovely forest walk close by through the town of Pershore which has plenty of cafe's shops etc. The site owners are brilliant, so helpful and easy to get along with. Thank you for a lovely holiday we had 17 nights stay and didn't want to leave, we will be back regularly for sure. Pam and Wendy Cleveleys

Brilliant Site

This is such a lovely site, close to the river. Tranquil and peaceful. Craig made us so welcome. Close to Pershore and places to eat in village. Will certainly return. The site is such a gem and still unspoilt. Electric, wi fi and even good television reception with extending aerial cable.
