Ideal Farm CL

Nice, quiet site with lovely views and charming owners. Plenty of space for 5 vans on beautifully maintained grass. I would suggest that visitors check with Mr Hall for the best approach route, as the Caravan Club recommendation via Thornton-Le-Beans is less than ideal.

save us a space

just back from our third visit this year to this cracking site the views are fantastic the grass is like a mown lawn [ it actually is a mown lawn ] and the peace and tranquility are to die for theres plenty of room for five vans and easy access from A19 or A1 as mentioned before its 3 miles to northallerton and thirsk, catterick and the east coast are all within easy reach , the owners couldn't be more welcoming and friendly and theres a pub about a mile away , no toilets or showers etc but a water tap and an elsan point that are both clean and easy to get to in corner of field , only problem with telling every one about this sight is we wont be able to get on when we want as once visited you will return

Perfect site

Stayed over the May bank holiday and there were 3 vans including ourselves and my parents.  So much space for a 0.5 acre site.  Very peaceful, good views and only 3 miles drive to Northallerton.  The owners couldn't be more friendly, even loaning walking maps for walkers like ourselves. We will be back as it is our type of site which is out of the way, great scenery and so quiet.

Just what we want from a CL

As others have said this is an excellent site - quiet, in a beautiful location and well kept. We had a lovely welcome from the owners despite their being very busy with the farm and family. Probably quite exposed in windy weather - we didn't experience that - but otherwise as a CL I don't think you could improve on this.

Ticks all of our boxes

We love this quiet, peaceful site so much that we don't really want to share it with others. It has become a favourite of ours over the last two years. Well kept, beautiful views and friendly, helpful owners.

Peaceful Stay

We had booked this site for three nights from August 11th before moving to Saltburn Folk Festival. It was an ideal spot, peaceful with lovely views and very relaxing before our next destination! The owners were very friendly and helpful. We were given an information sheet on arrival listing helpful information about the area. The CL was extremely well kept. We will definitely stay there again if in the area.

warm welcome and great site

found this site late last year and so far been four times its so good , very peaceful site with no traffic except farm traffic and owners car, warmest of welcomes from owners with loads of local knowledge, very slight slope on site but small ramp sorted us out , grass like a lawn and very well kept and views you should have to pay for but are free elsan point and water of course this really is among the nicest cl sites we have visited and my wife says im mad for telling every one about it as we wont be able to get on when we try again but its just too nice to keep to our selves , as mentioned theres nothing for the kids but they are welcome and theres always the coast which is not too far away or just visit the local towns, and at £12 per night its a target for other CLs to aim for

A gem of a site.

I can only echo the comments of the other reviewers. This is what a CL should be like. Well kept, helpful owners, and a peaceful location. The owners supply you with a information sheet, very helpful. Its a good base for seeing the local area, but there is very little within walking distance, but don't let that put you off.

Peaceful Haven

One of our favourites and the CL we have stayed on most of all. Clean, tidy, very well kept and peaceful. No passing traffic and beautiful surroundings. Great for walking or lazing around; you do need transport to access anywhere else, but this is part of the attraction of this site. Just home from the May Day weekend, and already wanting to go back!

could not wish for anything better

my wife and i have stayed here many times at various times of the year and it has got to be like going home. If you want a stress free time it is perfect. The pitches are as good as anywhere on the network and have great vistas.Mike & Denise the farmer & his wife are the most helpful owners you could wish for. Roll on the next time we visit. Hope there is room.
