It would be difficult to give this site a review about its peace & tranq., scenery, access to local places of interest because we didnt stay. Several weeks before Easter we searched CL's for hardstanding taking into account the time of year. We also Googled it and it looked lovely. Given the recent snow we rang the owner two days prior and he told us the hardstandings were fine. But the hardstandings are in an area littered with old sheds, and building materials/debris - its was a mess and not conducive for a pleasant stay. We will not be returning and it is fair to say that while we appreciate the recent bad weather, despite that the site was very very wet, sloping and another couple were stuck in the mud with their outfit (using a 4x4). The owner obviously had not been down the the field to check its suitablility since we had made the call. However he was happy to refund the £30 deposit they had taken from us. Furthermore the road down to the field was poor sub-base, very soft to run on, and not really wide enough. We felt rather let down by the site owners, especially as they state they are Club Members running a site.
