Our first CL

Having never stayed on a CL we were pleasantly surprised by what we found at Barbeth Farm. We've upgraded our caravan to a Unicorn Cartagena with an end washroom and don't need a shower block etc. The peace and tranquility of the site was overwhelming. I see that other reviewers have mentioned rusty signs, a less than perfect information booth etc. What do people expect for £10 a night - 'the hanging gardens of Babylon? Wildebeest galloping majestically across the horizon,' to paraphrase Basil Faulty. Since our visit here we have abandoned the larger, more crowded sites in favour of CL's. Am currently staying at a fabulous one in Wales - all for £15 a night, with toilet and shower. Result.

Beautiful

We arrived on the site Friday to meet up with my grandson his wife and two beautiful great grandchildren.the site was so exciting for the children with looking for fish in the small stream also on their bikes and lots more. But on Saturday night I was taken to hospital were I had my gallbladder and gallstones removed.I just want to thank Mr Paterson for his kindness in allowing us to stay longer and for two of the nights he did't charge us.I would highly recommend this site for all ages. Nearest CL to Home but now on the list for a quiet weekender.

Just of the M80 & M73 junction and a working farm but little if any from farm. Flight path to Glasgow Airport over head but all planes already throttled back for final approach so not a problem. Used flight tracker to see where the planes had come from. Several Surrounding towns & cities within half an hour drive so plenty to do. 5 hard standing pitches with electric and a nice small burn running along bottom of site. Fresh Eggs for sale. At £12 per night well worth a visit.

Very peaceful

Booked this CL for a stop over on our way home, wish we could have stayed longer, lovely peaceful site with great views and not far from the motorway. Facilities are more than adequate and clean. Please note price needs updating as now £12 a night. We will definitely return here.

Cracking Site.

My Photo 12/04/2019Okay maybe a bit of TLC required but the basics are there and are excellent. Spotless toilet, hard standings nearly level, large grassy are for play, electric, water and waste facilities and friendly reception. Add the outstanding views, peaceful atmosphere and easy access to Glasgow and surrounding. Stayed 6 nights with our 7 year old granddaughter and found loads of stuff not far away for her to do. We will be back.

Lovely CL

Stayed for one night in May 2018 en route for Arisaig. Lovely CL neat and tidy very quiet but close to major routes. Wish we could have stayed longer. Good value. Great for stop over or longer stays.

A very pleasant site

This is a beautifully kept site, all hardstanding, with refuse collection and water close at hand, and a short walk to the chemical disposal. The toilet provided is nicely presented, two or three minutes walk up a grassy slope. There is an Information hut, but there is little of use in it. Directions from the road were excellent, and very helpful, all the way to the site, which was readily accessible down a single track made up road. Please note that in May 2018 the price per pitch was £12 a night, and had been last year too. We have often found that the prices of CL's have not been updated for some time - I guess this depends if the site owner does an update or not?? Anyway, highly recommended, and offers all the essentials - we have just come from a club site which was over £21 a night that realistically only offered showers as an included extra (apart from friendly service and ice creams at the office of course!). Site owner here is also very amenable, and easy to get on with, with signage around the site and at the house clear and well set out. Only lacking any kind of local information e.g. nearest shop? No idea!!

Good site but needs some TLC

Easy access, very good directions and signage. All hard standings, but unfortunately the chippings are in places disappearing under a layer of soil and weeds. When we visited the access was quite muddy and couldn't be avoided so we had a lot of mud in the our 'van. Each pitch has a little caravan sign with the pitch number on it, but the signs are rusting. Site could do with some TLC and it would be excellent, it has everything going for it.

Very easy to find

I think this was the easiest to access cl we have stayed on. Pitches are all on hardstanding at one end of the site and are very level. The rest of the site is a sloping field that leads up to the farm where there is a spotlessly clean toilet.
