Fab place

Great place to stay as very central and we use this place a lot!! Not much to add unless you have dogs... Broad wood loch is a 5 minute drive away and very good walks around a massive loch! But better still is a visit to the quarry at Kilsyth - there is a car park to the left as you enter Kilsyth about 3 miles away and a fabulous clear water loch where dogs can just step in for a swim - our 2 older German shepherds love love love it! Plus there is a pub and canal network nearby the boathouse - check that out if you have dogs. This is a very laid back friendly and handy place!

Peace and quiet close to Glasgow

Excellent Cl. Stayed 4 nights. Pitches fairly close together but level and tidy. Toilet clean but an uphill trudge so we did not use it. Location overlooks meadows (two deer crossed one morning.) Quiet road yet only a minute from the motorway .. which is behind the hill and does not intrude. Great for access to Glasgow etc. We were well pleased

Great stopover

A very easy to reach site just off the motorway making this an easy option for either a stopover on the way north or south or as a site from which you can reach both Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Great site for Glasgow

This is a very quiet, peaceful site on a working dairy farm. Good views over the hills. Very convenient for visiting Glasgow -20 mins to the centre. Also for Stirling, Loch Lomond and the coast. Clean facilities. Good for dogs. We will be going back!

Good site convenient for Glasgow

Peaceful site within easy reach of Glasgow, Stirling, Falkirk as well as other places.   It is hard to believe how close to Glasgow and other centres of population are when staying on this site which is on a working farm.  Ideal to stop at when travelling further north or if visiting Glasgow or Stirling.  Will be back when next in area.

PEACEFUL SITE ON THE EDGE OF GLASGOW

We have stayed on this CL literally dozens of times over the past 10 years - sometimes 3 times a year. It is just so absolutely peaceful but so close to Glasgow and hundreds of attractions. It makes no claims to be the perfect CL and is completely unpretentious but that in a way is it's charm. It's all on hardstanding and is surrounded by a large grass field and some flower beds together with a stream running through. The new part of the M80 is about half a mile to the South, but as it's on the other side of a hill it's just a distant hum and that's really just at rush hour. Otherwise the road network round about is very quiet. The site looks out onto the Campsie Fells, a beautiful range of hills at the southernmost tip of the Highlands. Best views are spring and autumn when there are no leaves on the trees. Some lovely drives up the hills where you can look down on the area of the site. Very close to Kirkintilloch (2.5 miles) for Lidl/Tesco/Sainsburys or Cumbernauld (4.5 miles) for 24 hour Tesco and Asda plus various shopping centres. Centre of Glasgow just 9 miles on the M80 or use satnav to take the shortest route through some winding back roads and you'll get some great views. As previous reviewers have said not really any walks direct from the site but drive a couple of miles to Twechar or Kirkintilloch and walk along the towpath of The Forth & Clyde Canal. As far as I know there are no bus services either until you get to Westfield about 1.5 miles. Can thoroughly recommend this CL as a peaceful oasis - don't expect 5 star luxury but I think you'll see it's magic when you get there.

Lovely site, well located!

We have left this site today having stayed 3 nights visiting friends in the area. There is very little I can add to the previous reviews as they are all spot on. If you do fancy a lovely wander with the dog and/or kids take a drive to Cumbernauld House Park, just off the A8011. Very pretty and tranquil and great spaces for walking and playing- and it's free! ?? We enjoyed the area and would use this site again if up this way.

Convenient and well priced

Other reviewers have commented on the location and tranquility of the site. Wise advice to park first and then go up to the house. Only drawback was no obvious walks apart from using the quiet surrounding roads. Priced at £10 this site is good value, especially when compared with some of the expensive locations in England.
